Note: A minimum 13" extender trailer pin box is recommended. If using a slider, hitch will not adjust to lowest height setting.
When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be positioned on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, a slider may be used to move the fifth-wheel hitch and the trailer closer to your truck's tailgate and create enough space between your truck cab and the corner of your trailer to safely execute a slow-speed turn.
When you are making a 45-degree turn in a truck with a bed shorter than 8' and no slider, the corner of your fifth-wheel trailer may strike the back of your truck's cab.
By installing a slider with 10" of travel, you can eliminate the interference between trailer and truck cab in turns up to 80 degrees.

Today on our 2012 Chevy Silverado. We'll be installing the Reese quick install custom base rails with the outpour install kit part number Rp56001-53. To begin our install, we'll first go ahead and remove the rear wheels along with the spare tire. Next we'll take the rear base rail, set it in the bed of the truck measuring from the end of the bed. Note this will not be from the end of the tailgate, from the end of the bed to the rear edge of the base rail as per the instructions. Once we have that measured out, then we'll go ahead and make sure we have the base rail centered from side to side. Now at the rear base rail in position, we'll go ahead mark the five attachment points.
For this application it will be four on the outermost holes of the base rail and one on the inside center edge. Now we mark each one, we'll go ahead and take our centering punch and center punch each one of the attachment points. Once sets done we can then take a one eight inch drill bit and drill a pile of hole through each one of the attachment point. Now that pile of hole are created, we will go ahead and take our custom side bracket setting at the edge of the frame rail in position lining it up with the frigid of holes 00:01:19 hole in the frame and the cut out slots in the side bracket and make sure it lines up with our frigid of holes from the base rail. As you can see we'd love to drill bitting one, and it goes right down to the frigid of hole or attachment point for our side bracket. Now we're confident that our holes are in the correct location. Well I move the base rail out of the way and using a step of process enlarger to our final size as for the instructions.
Now the hole drills out we'll move back down to the side of the pickup and begin installing the side bracket. Securing each side bracket we . Two sets of 5/8 bolt 5/8 block along with the 5/8 conical tooth washer and knot. Assisting getting our hardware into the frame and in position we'll use the 5/8 pull wire provided with the install kit. We'll take our pull wire go through the attachment point and then out of the access hole on the inside of the frame. Then we'll slide on the block and thread on the bolt.
We'll feed the block and bolt into the frame and then pull them out to the attachment point. We'll repeat the same process for the other attachment point. Now the hardware in place, we'll begin putting the bracket in position by putting the pull wire through the attachment point and then putting the bracket up against the frame. Once the bracket against the frame when go ahead pull the carriage bolt through the bracket, we'll remove the bolt later, install the conical tooth washer with the teeth of the washer facing the side bracket and then the knot to secure it. We'll install each one of this fasteners finger tight until we have them all in place. Now the hardware holding the side bracket in place, we'll go ahead take the U shape spacer block and place them between the side bracket and under body of the bed. This will help compensate for the bed corrugation when we tighten down the hardware it won't smash the bed.
Now the U shape blocks in place, we'll go ahead and take the half inch carriage bolt we'll drop it down to the base rail through the bed to the U shape block and then to the side bracket. Securing in underneath with the half inch conical washer, the teeth of the washer facing the side bracket and then a half inch knot. We'll install each fastener finger tight until we have all four in place. Note that will wait, completely drill out the center attachment point after we have all the other hardware in place. Next we're ready to go ahead and install the front base rail. Using our pro series fit wheel slider part number Rp30092 as a template. We'll put the base drill in position and then set the fifth wheel slider in place. This will help line up the front base rail into position. Once we have our slider in position, we'll go ahead and put the pins in. Now we've position the front base rail. We'll repeat the same process of locating the attachment points, center punching him and then pre drilling him and making sure they line up with their side brackets. Once they line up with the side brackets. We'll remove the fifth wheel slider, setting aside and moving the base out of the way and then drilling out our attachment points. With the four outer attachment points drilled out, we're going to put the base rail back into position and install our half inch carriage bolts. Repeating the same process, we get for our rear base rail. Next we'll go ahead and put our fifth wheel slider back in place and reinstall the pins. Making sure that the pins go in nice and easily. Next we're ready to go ahead and start tightening down the hardware. Starting with our half inch carriage bolts we'll tighten them down and then tort the specification. Next we'll repeat the same process and tighten down the 5/8 carriage bolt and tort the specification. Now the base rail and side bracket is secured. We'll go back to the base rail and drill out the center to attachment point and install the half inch carriage bolts. Then we'll move underneath the pickup bed and install the conical tooth washer and half inch knot. Once installed, we'll tighten them down and tort specification. Now with all the hardware secured with tort specification, we'll go ahead and run to the operation of our new pro series fifth wheel slider with rollers part number RP30092. By operating the slider handle into the unlock position we can slide the head assembly back towards the rear of the vehicle, relocking the handle and putting the slider assembly into the maneuvering position. Once we finished maneuvering out trailer we'll then go ahead unlock the handle slide the head assembly back towards the back of the cam relocking it and putting inaudible 00:06:16 position. The head assembly for our fifth wheel slider is a single handle locking drawwhich will pull out on the handle sliding it forward towards the cam and we'll lock it In the open position. Then to unlock the draw we'll simply pull out, slide it towards the rear of the vehicle and then release the handle allowing you to slide back into the lock position. With that, that will complete the install of the Reese quick install custom base rails with the outpour install kit part number RP56001-53 in conjunction with our pro series fifth wheel slider with rollers part number Rp30092on our 2012 Chevy Silverado.

They work great. Backing in and hooking up with the 5th wheel slid back is the only to tow with a super crew cab and 6.5 ft bed. 635394
Nice product great shipping 373259
easy to install , but a bit fickle , have to have al the king pin weight off slider to get it to lock in position , so not easy peasy , I rounded edges and cleaned up surface for lock pin but no , gotta jack 5th wheel up to change forward / backward , so might be 2 repositions 264716
I own a 2007 3/4 ton GMC Truck extended cab short box. I have had my 5th wheel RV for several years with no problem until the other day when I put the corner of my RV through the back windshield. I went to E.trailer and read some of the reviews and other information on the slider rails product # 30092. It was an easy enough install with everything fitting into place with no problem. The shipping was fast and I received it within 5 days it might of been faster but I ordered on the weekend. Before I received my order I had some questions and called E.Trailer and they answered them all for me. I would highly recommend this product and company 212215

I haven't hooked up the trailer as yet The Installation went Great 31391
I just received the product and will install it this weekend. I'm sure the product itself will be just fine and the delivery was great. The one item which I found frustrating was the fact that I emailed a question and received no response even after I followed up about one week after my initial request. I finally ordered this produce even though I wasn't sure it was the right fit for my situation. I find that very disconserting especially after having such good service in the past. 21126
