Adam: Hi everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today, we're installing some tire chains and I'm going to be going over our kit, which is going to be our tire chain installation kit. Comes with a nice kneeling pad here, great for your knees. And also, we're going to helm it with two different lights. We're going to have obviously a light that's going to have all sorts of red lights on it with a bunch of different features, we'll go over that later in the video.
And of course as you can see here, it also doubles as a work light. Look how bright it is. It's extremely bright. We're going to go over some of the features now.The pad is pretty much self-explanatory. I'll just go over some dimensions.
We're going to have about 20 inches by nine inches, and it's going to be about an inch and a half thick. It has a little carrying strap here, so it's going to be easy to just grab it and put it to where you need it. On one side it's going to be a little bit more durable, so that's what's going to go down on the ground so you don't really have to worry about it tearing over time. And on the top, it's going to be nice and soft. But this is going to be waterproof, so it's not going to soak up any of those liquids like water, if it's in snow or any other kind of petroleum products like that.
That's pretty much it for that. I can just go ahead and just tell you it is comfortable. Definitely more comfortable than this, so you'll have to take my word for it.Let's go over the lights here. The nice thing about it on the back, we are going to have a little hook that we can pop out, and we could go ahead and hang it somewhere if we needed to, just like that. But as you saw, it was on the side of my vehicle.
We do have a magnet on it too, so if we can find a good place to put it, it would be ideal just to let other people driving down the road to see you. If it's heavy snow, it might be a little bit hard to see, so this will definitely help with that. And I actually found a metal spot in my wheel-well to mount it up like that, and that's just going to make it really easy to see, especially if we're installing tire chains at night.Usually you have to use two hands to put them up and go around. You're not going to be able to hold another light. And even if you have somebody else in the car with you, if it's your wife or your husband or something like that, you want to keep them warm. You can just get it done by yourself, so that'll definitely be a plus. Definitely for me. The light you see here is the high beam with the three AAA batteries that aren't included. You put those in there, so it should last around three hours of bright time like this. Well, we have a low beam. As you can see, I'm struggling to look at, it's really bright. But the low beam, you click it in again, still bright, but not as bright. But then after those two settings, this is going to be the only two settings with the white light, but then we go the red different types of lights. This first setting after the white light is going to be the red devil. It is going to last around nine hours, just depending on what kind of batteries you have in there. They're obviously giving you these numbers assuming these are brand new batteries, so just keep that in mind. And then we're going to have the pulse version once we click in. It's going to be a little bit different. This is going to be a little bit longer lasting than the last mode. You can go again, and we're going to have the red single. It's just going to blink just like that. This one is going to last the longest, around 36 hours is what they're saying, so hopefully, you're not on the side of the road for that long. But just know that you should have that amount of time on some fresh batteries. You can click it again and it's going to be the red rotation. This is just going to obviously just rotate around. I think it'd be better honestly, if you're trying to get somebody's attention just because it's constantly lighting up, and it really gets your attention. Let me click it again. This is going to be the SOS which is going to last around 15 hours, so that's pretty good. And then we can click it again and it's going to be the red alternate. And then we're going to go one last time, the only LED lighting up in this mode, which is the last mode, is the one on the very bottom. And that's pretty much all the modes with that, but what we can go ahead and do is show you some of the options.Obviously, we have a magnet here, but there also is another plate that comes with our kit. It just slides on there just like so. So basically, if you guys have the hardware, we have three holes that we can actually drill in somewhere, whether it's in an RV, enclosed trailer or wherever you see it fit.Another thing this thing will be great for is just illuminating that engine bay if you ever have any issue. Or if you're just working at night and you don't have a good light, you don't have to run a cord or anything like that. And it's plenty bright. Obviously, we're not fixing it up there so we can just go ahead and just toss it around whichever way. Wherever we need to do our work, I think it'll fit on pretty much any part of just the solid hood here. So I do think it'll do a decent job of lighting it up. And of course just getting that light where you want it so someone doesn't have to hold a flashlight, and you don't just hold it with your mouth or something like that. You can use both of your hands to fix whatever's wrong. So all in all, if we're installing tire chains, we're probably not in the best situation. It's probably not too warm outside, so just being able to make this job as simple as possible, and of course, as easiest on your knees as possible, I think it's just going to make it all in all, less frustrating to do so. And of course, safety is definitely a concern with us, and I do think having these safety lights would help me whenever I'm on the side of the road. I just get nervous because there's crazy people on the roads these days. So just being able to show them where you're at with this kit, I think it'd be great. And again, even if you're not even using it for safety and you're just using this for a light, it's pretty bright too. You could just be on your driveway, cleaning your RV, cleaning your car, or even just doing work on something. So this comes in handy too. It's not just for these emergency situations. If you're not planning on putting tire chains on there, this kit still could be for you.
