Hello, neighbors. I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this rubber mounting gasket for your Peterson Piranha LED trailer clearance lights. Now, folks, if you're not familiar with what those lights look like, I'll go ahead and throw up a picture of one. We sell them in amber or red. You could purchase those separately.
The part number for amber is 168A and for red it's 168R. Pretty simple, right So, folks, these do provide just an additional layer of like shock absorption to help extend the life of that light. It is a surface mount design. The light will simply snap into the gasket for mounting, and then it's got the mounting holes here that you would mount the screws through, and then obviously the wires going through that gasket. Pretty simple design, pretty simple product here today.
Now I'll throw up an image with some dimensions on there. Pretty technical on the dimensions. Small part, like to be as precise as we can. So 2.82 inches across, 1.92 inches center to center on those mounting holes, and it is one inch thick overall. The 168R side marker light paired with the B168-18 mounting gasket were easy to mount and work perfectly.
These gaskets fit perfectly and add protection against vibration.
I bought four of these bases for use with four of the #B168 led clearance lights. The bases are a perfect match for the lights and I recommend them.
The lights are still working perfectly after a full year.
Must have for the marker lights.
Doesn't fit the suggested bezel.

You mentioned that it did not fit with the bezel and I wanted to see if you could explain in more detail how.

The gasket is too thick to fit between the bezel and the mounting surface. And is too wide to fit between the lite and the bezel. The only way to make the gasket work is to remove its raised edge so it fits between the lite and the bezel.

The gaskets have worked fine. They ad protection from trailer vibration.
