Hello Neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Pace Edwards Bluetooth Controller Kit for powered tonneau covers. Now once installed this allows you to use their app that's super easy to use. It's pretty simple but in the best way possible. And that way you can open and close your tonneau cover with the push of a button on your phone. You don't have to worry about carrying those key fobs with you, or if those batteries are charged up, ready to go. Now, pretty easy here, just open and close.

So we can close this and it's gonna close just as we would like the push of the key fob. You can also pause it and open back up. Again, it mimics the key fob. It just eliminates the fact that you don't have to have that on your key chain. To begin our installation, we're gonna go ahead and get our wires that are already plugged in.

We've been using our- our tonneau cover and so we'll just separate these as our module's going to plug into those. So we'll separate that. We can take off our dust cap on our other plug. Now pretty easy here we have cover of switch of receiver and that's gonna go to cover switch. It's pretty simple there, match those up.

Now you're gonna grab power to receiver and make sure you're plugging it into the red and black wire that's from the canister. So that one's labeled power as you can see there. And then that leaves us with our cable that we ran up to our battery going to power from truck. We'll get that snapped in. Next, download the Pace Edwards app and that's available on iOS App store, as well as Google Play.

Once you add that downloaded you can see that it's saying finding trucks and we'll just drag down our arrow to connect it. So to pair it, we'll just push our button for three seconds. Now we have our connection, our Bluetooth signal is there so we'll go ahead and test it before we mount this up. Very responsive so, it's working properly. Now that we've tested it and we know that it works we're gonna mount this up to our canister but we wanna unplug our power from the truck. That way we don't have electricity running through just in case. Now we're gonna go ahead and it's gonna mount in this spot. It's gonna have measurements in the instructions to make sure that this goes in a proper spot to not cause damage. Now ours is new, but if your truck has been driving around for a bit and you got some dust or any residue on there, they do come with an alcohol swab here, which will clean this surface making it perfect for it to adhere to. We'll let that dry. Your instruction manual will tell you exactly your measurements and on your smaller trucks, like your Tacomas or Colorados, those actually get mounted a little bit differently, so make sure you're referring to your instruction manual for that. So with my tape measure I'm gonna go ahead and get my measurements here. So, ours is gonna be three quarters away from our rivet half an inch down from this rivet and should also be half an inch away from the bend. So once we're happy with our location, we can go ahead peel off the backing of our adhesive. We'll just double check my measurement one more time. And this is just gonna make sure that no damage occurs to the inside part of our tonneau cover, so that's why they're very specific here. We're gonna press for 15 seconds. Now if you're doing this in a cold environment we're in a bay right now, but for that adhesive you might want to take a heat gun or a hair dryer to kind of warm that up so it really sticks. Now with the included self-tapping screws we're gonna install them in the top right. No need to pre-drill here. We'll just simply fill this in. And then we're gonna do our bottom left. Now we can plug this back into our plug. You can see that's lit up. And so we'll just go ahead and test it again with our app. So now all that's left to do is zip tie up our wires just so they're nice and clean, and you can actually use one of your tie down straps here just kind of bundle this up and tuck it up nice and clean.
