Trailer Tongue Kickstand for Malone Trailers - MPG467

Average Customer Rating:  4.6 out of 5 stars   (43 Customer Reviews)

Good for what it is. I used it for my Yakima Rack and Roll kayak trailer to keep the tongue off the ground and help when maneuvering. But, it isn't a perfect fit and the whole thing rotated a bit on the trailer. Still works ok. The wheel doesn't rotate around very easily when changing the direction of the trailer, so that's a bit of a pain.

Combo review - the trailer is PERFECT (MMalone MicroSportXT Trailer - 78" Crossbars - Retractable Tongue). I put it together over several evenings after work. Directions and online videos were helpful - pretty easy build. Have used the trailer several times and am so happy with it. Lightweight, easy to load the boat. I added the kickstand, which is handy for keeping the trailer level and for pushing the trailer around. So happy with this trailer and - very responsive.

Still love the trailer. I was able to keep it in the garage over the winter because I could tip it up. So glad I dont have to throw the kayaks - or anything - on the roof anymore!

My Malone trailer is awesome, but this kickstand has never worked as I had hoped. The wheel doesn’t spin properly and I have to lift the tongue and kick it to make it turn. It’s installed properly, but sits a little cockeyed on the tongue which causes it to bind. I should have returned it, but I was lazy.

Product was as advertised, however it was missing four bolts that I had to get at a hardware store, but other than that it was fine. Service from etrailer team was outstanding.

This is very rugged...much better than I expected. I love the locking kickstand mechanism!

Very convenient to have the kickstand when putting the trailer on and off the tow hitch, and for storage. When it was installed, I found that the fit onto the trailer frame was less than ideal but once installed, the kickstand works as we wanted it to perform.

Very happy with trailer. Fairly easy to assemble but directions could be better. Took about 4 hours to build basic trailer by myself. Additional 1.5 hrs. to add carriers, spare tire, kick stand, etc.

They work great

Great product. Timely delivery.

Does the job I need it to do.

Had the kickstand assembled and connectec to the trailer about thirty minutes after delivery, Everything I expected and will make it easier to manage the trailer when connecting and disconnecting from the hitch.

It is IMPORTANT to remember to elevate the kickstand and store it properly before traveling. During a recent trip I kept feeling and hearing a worrisome noise from the trailer. I stopped twice and could see nothing wrong. The third stop was for another inspection and gas. Another guy told me I needed to lift up the kickstand and store it properly. Live and learn

The kickstand works perfectly, it's relatively easy to install, and the price-quality ratio is excellent.

Great company with great customer service! A year ago we bought a Malone trailer from this company and were very pleased with all aspects of our purchase. We realized there was an addition we could order to make it easier to move our trailer around with our kayaks loaded on it. We just ordered a trailer tongue kickstand and like previous our previous experience ....... ordering was simple, delivery was speedy and product was as expected. Highly recommend this company!

This swivel jack installs and works as advertised. The clamp system on the model I received is different from the model demonstrated in the video and is designed to be mounted on the side of the trailer tongue rather than under it. It's a little clunky looking on my Malone trailer. I will be cutting off the bolts in order to clean up the installation a bit. etrailer's price was the best I could find and I am happy about that.

I’ve owned many trailers and have had several tongue kickstands. I haven’t installed this yet but it looks to be heavy duty and should last a long time. The packaging needs some upgrade, as my box was fully open when I received it, and the contents not very well wrapped.

As expected! Great service from etraile r!

Painted blue, and a pvc coated wire basket for gear storage with a bungee net cover. Stores my 16 ft. Xcat with sailing and rowing package plus my Blackfin SUP on top.

This makes moving a loaded trailer much easier. Installation was a snap. I only wish the wheel rotated mor freely. Otherwise, a great add on to my trailer.

Items I needed were available, shipped quickly and were package well

The kickstand serves its purpose but if I had to do it again I would purchase the more heavy duty one with the telescoping feature.

I think I like everything about this purchase. can't complain about anything.

works great on the malone trailer

Looks great just haven't installed on trailer yet

As advertised.
Now for the
trailer to attach to it!

Tongue was missing one bolt. Could not find a similar one at Lowe’s so I jury rigged a longer bolt I purchased. Hope it works!

  • What Size Trailer Frame Works with the Trailer Tongue Kickstand # MPG467
When Trailer Tongue Kickstand # MPG467 is installed the distance from the bottom of the trailer frame where it attaches to the ground is 15 inches. The trailers it was designed for have tongues that are 2 inches wide by 3 inches tall. If your trailer frame is taller then you will likely need to obtain longer bolts locally.

  • Compatibility of Malone Trailer Tongue Kick Stand With Wheel for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer
The Malone Trailer Tongue Kickstand # MPG467 is made to keep the trailer tongue 15 inches off the ground and is designed for Malone trailer tongues that are 2 inches wide by 3 inches tall. The Yakima Rack and Roll trailer has a tongue that is 2 inches by 2 inches but the brackets of the Malone kickstand will fit. I've attached a photo of the 2x3 Malone trailer fit so you can see there is more adjustability to fir the Yakima tongue.

  • Spare Tire Carrier Retractable Tongue and Kickstand for Malone MicroSport Trailer
The correct spare wheel/tire and carrier for the Malone MicroSport trailer part # MPG464-LB is the part # MPG465 which is designed to attach to the tongue of the trailer. The retactable tongue kit that fits this trailer is the # MPG494 which decreases the length of the trailer by 61 inches. And then for the "kickstand" we also have the Trailer Tongue Kickstand for Malone Trailers # MPG467 which is basically just a swivel trailer jack. All of these can be installed at the same time as well.

  • Recommended Small Boat Trailer that Can Fit in Truck Bed and Can Be Assembled At Campsite
For your 11 foot inflatable boat, I recommend the CE Smith Boat Trailer for Boats and PWCs up to 12' Long - 800 lbs # CE48810. This trailer can be disassembled, transported in the bed of your truck, and reassembled at your campsite. It is 12 feet long when assembled and weighs just 212 lbs. I've attached a review of this trailer to assist. It has a weight capacity of 800 lbs. Another great option is the Malone MicroSport Trailer - Galvanized Steel Wheels - 13' Long - 375 lbs # MPG460G....

  • Will The Malone Trailer Tongue Kickstand Work With The Retractable Tongue Kit?
The Retractable Tongue Kit for Malone MicroSport Trailers # MPG494 is designed to replace a damaged tongue on a MicroSportXT # MPG460XT, or to upgrade the tongue on a Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG460G. Both of these trailers have an overall length of 13' 3" long, but when # MPG494 is installed, reduces the length to 8' 2". The 20' you're referring to, has to do with the maximum boat length that'll fit on the trailer. Also, the Trailer Tongue Kickstand for Malone Trailers # MPG467 will...

  • How to Prevent Coupler Noise While Towing with the Malone EcoLight Trailer Part # MAL53FR
There could be two reasons as to why you are experiencing excessive noise from the hitch ball and coupler on the Malone EcoLight Trailer part # MAL53FR. The first possible solution I have for you would be to add a good amount of grease to the hitch ball with part # 58117. If the hitch ball and coupler still continue to make nose after the grease is applied then it may very well be that there is just not enough weight on the tongue of the trailer as you mentioned. The most useful way to...
