Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Replacement Towers for your Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack System. So if you've damaged, lost, stripped, broke or just need new roof rack towers for your system, you might be super interested in this video. The Malone AirFlow2 is a very popular roof rack for raised rails and for a good reason, it checks off all the boxes. It has integrated T-track channels. It has end caps.

It has locks. It fits very easily around raised rails and it's affordable. But what I've noticed is sometimes, especially after a good amount of wear and tear, things can go wrong. Things can get damaged on the lock itself. You can strip out that tightening bolt, the towers pop off.

And when that happens, you're gonna need replacement parts. So that's what these are for. These are direct replacement parts for your roof rack. One of the things that can have happen is maybe that red dust cap on your lock is broken, damaged or kind of hiding like what we have here. Another thing that might happen, speaking of lock cores is maybe your key itself is damaged or you lose it and then you need to replace it.

Now this does have an integrated tool to tighten it down. But after a lot of use, the tool itself may become bald. The bolt in there may get stripped, things like that. And that's when you need to replace your tower as well. So with this, you're gonna get a pair of towers and they're all inclusive.

They have the lock with the tool on the end. They have the end cap, they have 2 keys. The only thing you aren't gonna get is something keyed alike to your previous set. So if that's gonna be concern for you, I do recommend contacting us at etrailer, that way we can try to get a set for you that matches. Although that can or may or may not be a sure thing, depending on availability. Since this is a direct replacement part, it's super easy switch things out. So let's take a look at that. So here I have the old cross bar with its old tower. Now I don't have a set of towers 'cause I lost one. And the other one is faulty. What might happen, especially once you have those towers pop up off of your cross bar is that they can get kind of jammed. Let's, let me show you how that looks. Notice here, how with the way our bar is shaped that it's not gonna be able to slide onto the track underneath our crossbar. And no matter what I tried to do, I couldn't get it back into shape. So what I do recommend doing to prevent this from happening is try to keep those end caps on your crossbar as much as possible. And don't let them slide off of the cross bars so that you don't have this issue where you can't slide them back in. So what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna replace these towers with new ones. Here we have our new towers. Now they're gonna include their own keys. Probably won't be keyed alike to the towers you had previously on though. So just keep that in mind. If you want all 4 to be keyed alike, you may have to get 4 towers, so that's just something worth considering. Now, these are just gonna pop right into your own cross bars and straight through. Especially once you have them loosened up and one of the towers will have the tool to tighten or loosen your towers. You may have to just double check that all the rubber pieces are properly on the towers once they arrive. Just make sure it fits around all those grooves, everything's in place. They do tend to come off while they're in the box. But once that's all good, you can get both towers in and they should just slide through. Just like that. I'm gonna loosen this up with the included tool before I pop this onto our raised rails. So just finish the install like you would do normally, tighten everything down, line things up. But once everything is nice and secure, don't forget to pop that end cap back on, on each side and that's it. You're ready to go. So my personal thoughts about these is while I do love the Malone AirFlow2 for having pretty much everything you need in a quick roof rack system for your raised rails, the downside is it tends to get some wear and tear very easily. Parts seem to be easy to break, lose or damage. So it is nice to know that the replacement parts are easily available right here at etrailer for when things like that happen.
