Hi there RV and camper owners. Today, we're going to be taking a look at MaxxFan's RV Vent Cover Screen. This bug deflector screen is designed specifically for MaxxAir's vent covers. It's designed to have the proper shape to fit on the back of it. So this way, when you've got your vent opened up and you're letting air in, you can ensure that no critters and insects are going to be coming inside to join you. It's a quick and easy installation because it just snaps in right on the backside of the vent cover.
And you can see here, it's going to add that extra layer of mesh behind the grills to keep anything out. Something like this is really useful if you like to sleep with your vents open. This is our customer's bedroom vent right here, and they like a little bit of air flow, like it cooler at night. So having something like this is going to ensure that the mosquitoes and other things aren't going to come in and join you. And you're not going to have a bad time when you wake up, you're just going to wake up refreshed with that fresh air that you're drawing in from the outside, whether you're in the mountains or down by the creeks. So now to insert your screen, it's going to sit like this.
I found that it was easier to put the screen in after you have your vent cover fully assembled. So we're going to put this back piece on. So you can see that these are elongated here and here, on each side. So we're just going to slide that up till it pokes through. And we're also going to do that on the other side, down here.
And then once you got them in there where they poke through, then just give it a twist. And with that elongated end there it's going to lock it in place. And then we're just going to push the top in until it clicks in here on the top.Now that we've got that inserted, we can go ahead and take our cover off. It's actually easier to put the screen in if you just had the whole thing off. So we're going to take the pins out of the sides, and that will allow us to lift the unit completely off of there.
We'll now take our screen. And there's three notches here. Those are going to line up at the bottom with the three clips. So just set that guy down in there. It'll line up there, and then all you need to do at that point is to push down on the tabs until they hook in on the lip right there. And now that we've got it clipped in all the way around, we can just re-install our cover over our vents. So it's just going to drop down on top. We'll line the ends up with our brackets and then slide our pins through to secure it. Put them up, to lock it in place. And once all the pins are secured, your vent cover has been installed, and you're now ready to enjoy the operation of your existing vent, without having to worry about any moisture or critters coming inside. And that completes our look at MaxxFan's, RV Vent Cover Screen.

Add this bug screen to your MaxxAir FanMate vent cover to help keep insects and debris out of your RV or enclosed trailer. It snaps into place behind the louvered vent area on the back of the cover. The screen is terrible quality. Right out of the package the screens were separated from the frame. There is no way for the insect screen to snap into the louvers. The locking tabs are just tabs, there is no way for it to snap in. I just wasted $34. When I ordered my MaxxAir vent covers, these screens were recommended at the bottom of the page. I would like to see a close up on the video where the guy says they snap in. Show me the snaps!
Be careful how you search on the website. I was searching for a filter for a new Maxxair II Fanmate roof vent cover and this filter was returned. I wrongly assumed that they fit both. The filter for the Maxxair II model turns out is wider. I contacted etrailer.com to see if I could return this one for a credit and purchase the correct one which they also carry, but was told that they do not do exchanges. At least it wasn't an expensive item. eBay and Amazon vendors in my experience are more flexible about returns.
I like the idea of an additional bug barrier. I noticed that the top edge of the screen, when installed, is taller than the grate. This made it very difficult to install. Plus the grate does not form to the main body of the hood like it should, in my opinion.
Quick delivery and well packaged. Ordered online and was easy to find on the etrailer website. Not the first time I've ordered with etrailer and always have had good experience.
Lori was fantastic to work with! The items were exactly what we wanted and etrailer had the most competitive price. I’m very happy that I ordered from them.
This item doesn't fit well at all, had to tiewrap it to a make sure it doesn't pop off.

That is uncommon to hear with this bug screen. I wonder if it is warped and I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

1yr later the maxxair vent covers are working perfectly!! Tks for an excellent affordable product.
Installed easy
Purchased from etrailer.com in the past where I received the same very good service with an easy-to-use website. Not having been on their website for a period of time I was surprised to find all the products for RV and Motorhome campers. Their prices are competitive and the MaxxAir Vent Cover Screen that was purchased was received within a very short period of time after ordering. Obviously etrailer.com has their act together.
It doesn't snap in flush and does take a bit of manipulation to get it seated right in the vent. Now imagine yourself on top of your camper doing this. The price is right but it should have been included with the vent from the beginning!
Worked well to keep rain out of vent
just fine and dandy
Great product

Installed ok was hard to get in was not told when I ordered it there was 2 different ones.

MaxxAir does offer two different bug screens. This screen installs behind the louvered vents on the back of the Fan Cover. The other screen is the Replacement Round Screen for Maxxair RV Roof Vents MA05-30925. This screen replaces the inner bug screen on the vent.

Works great, easy to install would definitely recommend
These are great and just what we needed.
There was several reviews about poor fit up. It was challenging to get a good fit, not that difficult though.
Seem to be a great idea and are super easy to install! I only provided 4 stars because I don't know how effective they will be. Once I've had them for a while I will update the review.
Tougher to get a good fit than I thought but finally got them fitted and installed. Still a very good product that will serve me well as a fulltime RVer.
Blessings,
Even harder to get in place than the thing was to put together. It should work fine though. See my previous review on the 5 star thing.
Easy to install and stays in with no pr oblems.

You can watch the installation at time stamp 2:19 and our installer demonstrates how to connect the screen to the vent.
