Hello, everybody. This is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Kodiak passenger-side Dacromet disc brake caliper for a 2,000 pound to 3,500-pound axles. Now, this one here is a passenger-side disc brake caliper. It is constructed of cast iron, has a Dacromet plating for corrosion resistance. Now, the cast iron construction of it prevents flexing, keeps your braking torque consistent.
Also, the self-adjusting design of it ensures smooth, even braking. Does offer a low drag ability, which retracts the piston further than traditional models, gives you less friction, leads to a cool-running brake. Now, the caliper itself includes this single-port bleed screw right here. The two stainless steel guide bolts for installation has the thread locker on each end when you go and install these, has the ceramic brake pads included, and then the piston is a stainless steel piston, and this is a 2 1/4" diameter stainless steel piston, which is about 30% larger than most disc brake systems. This will give you increased braking torque, shorter stopping distances.
Brake pads, we mentioned they're ceramic brake pads, provide superior performance for more consistent braking. They will withstand high temperatures for maximum wear, and the Dacromet plating that's on the caliper provides excellent corrosion resistance for freshwater saltwater use. It does meet the 300 to 400-hour salt spray rating. Application, again, this will fit the Kodiak disc brake kits, which we sell separately on our website. Works on kit part number K2HR2D and K2HR35D-8.
Both of those we sell separately on our website. Again, axle ratings as you far is 2,000 pound to 3,500-pound axles. Rotor diameter size they use with this caliper is eight inch diameter to 10-inch diameter. Now, this is the passenger side we mentioned. We do also sell the driver's-side brake caliper.
That is part number KD54F4, and it's usually listed on this product page as a related product, but that should do it for the review on the Kodiak passenger-side Dacromet disc brake caliper for a 2,000 pound to 3,500-pound axles.
