Flexible Rubber Brake Hoses
Kodiak brake hoses are made of rubber, making them a practical choice for a variety of applications. Because you can easily bend them, rubber hoses are simpler to work with than rigid stainless steel brake lines. This flexibility makes rubber hoses great for use with foldaway trailer tongues because they are less likely to kink or break when bent. In addition, rubber hoses allow for a wide range of motion so articulating parts can effectively function. These qualities make rubber hoses better suited than steel lines for trailers with torsion axle suspension systems and trailers that have disc brakes.
Stainless steel brake lines have braided exteriors, which can not only wear against exterior surfaces, but also against the interior lining of the hose if dirt gets underneath the steel braid. And if the braid on a stainless steel line tears, it can cut into the hose lining. The exterior surface of these hoses is solid rubber, so there are no crevices for debris to enter.
Durable Fittings with Deep Threads
Kodiak brake hoses have corrosion-resistant brass fittings with stainless steel flares. These fittings have a gap built into them that allows room for a line wrench - also called a flare nut wrench - to slide over the line and down to the nut. This type of wrench grips the nut better than a standard open-ended wrench so there is less chance of stripping the threads as you tighten down the nut.
The stainless steel that is used to create the flares on these hoses is stronger than brass. As a result, these fittings are more durable than ones made entirely of brass. The stainless flares are primarily designed to keep the fittings from splitting when you tighten them down, but they offer absolute rust protection as well.
Kodiak's fittings have deeper threads than many other fittings on the market to provide a higher thread engagement. Deeper threads offer an advantage when used with fittings that have the same thread depth. These Kodiak fittings will work with most fittings on the market, but when they're used with other Kodiak fittings, the result is a stronger connection with fewer leaks.

Brass fittings were very soft and I recommend a real fitting wrench.
I have a 2011 Lund impact 1775 on a Shorelander single axle trailer which tips the scale around 2500# dry. I felt that surge brakes would be a smart investment and take some pressure off my Ford F150 to help stop that beast. I researched kits, actuators, calipers and rotors and decided on the Kodiak caliper and rotor kit and the Titan actuator. eTrailer had both in stock, a convenient hose kit to boot and fair price so I purchased the lot from them. Delivery was very quick and all of the hardware arrived together and in good shape. It took me one afternoon to assemble the actuator on my swing \-away tongue and another to install the calipers and rotors. There was one snag with the hose kit, in that one of the hoses was incorrect. I contacted Bryan at eTrailer and he was very accommodating; rushing the correct hose to me and then following up by phone when I received it. It took about two hours to finish the installation and I couldn't be more pleased, both with the quality of the products and the first-rate service! I have yet to bleed the system and take it out for a run but I don't anticipate any issues. I fully recommend eTrailer, their products and service!
I added brakes on my boat trailer and these rubber brake lines made the install easy. However, I did have to install all the P clips provided plus a few more to make sure the lines would not chaff against the trailer frame.
Recived the parts for the trailer. Not sure why I didn't get the nuts and washers for the back plate, thought they would come with rest of the brakes, also on the brake line the brass 3 way block was size 3x4x3 and would not fit. Went to [...], they had a 3x4x3 and it works great. The rest of the parts fit Great. Thank you I will be back again. Bob
I was initially concerned about finding the right parts as the trailer was fairly old. etrailer had just what I needed. The website is so elegant. I was able to find the right parts quickly and with comparative options to make a final selection. The how-to videos are great. This made installation a little more comfortable. Especially when you do not perform this type of work every day. The parts were of high quality and are working as expected. I highly recommend etrailer for any of your trailer needs.
This hose kit worked great with the disc brake kit I added to my new Haulmark trailer. Tip: I have a 6 X 12 v-nose trailer, but needed all of the hose included in this 15' hose kit.
Argued about brake lines, Stainless vs rubber and rubber won base on your sales comments. This is a trailer and not a vehicle where stainless would be better, but car manufacturers use rubber to the wheel.
Good job, but now need warmer weather to get installation done.
I am a boat mechanic and I have ordered three complete boat trailer brake kits from E Trailer ...all have arrived quickly and exactly as ordered. Great product.
Excellent product for the money! Parts and pieces were exactly as described and the quality of everything was exceptional through the installation process. Let's hope that continues through the use and life of the product.
Shipping times and customer service were also top notch! Thanks etrailer!
Relatively easy to install. Have had for a year now with no issues. Would recommend.
Used this kit for a complete rebuild of my salt water trailer. Install was straight forward and although I launch infrequently, everything is working as it should. No problem recommending the product.
Sheryl offered excellent customer service helping me track down the parts I needed. Smooth transaction and prompt shipping. A+ in all aspects.
Fit perfectly! Not a single leak! Made this job replacing 20 year old brake lines a breeze!

Keep it up etrailer.com!!
so far so good. item seems heavy enough to handle the forces it will receive on my boat trailer. haven't installed it yet. Arrived fast and in good condition.
Received the brake line kit as ordered. It has not been installed as yet. Looks like it will do the job okay. Would have been happier with a 3/16" ID system rather than the 1/8" as supplied.
a year later brake line kit is holding up well to saltwater use.
Everything appears to be fine with this package
Great product, exactly what I needed.
these hoses look good and a smart substitute to steel tube. why mess with the steel when you can get these for a few dollars more? haven't installed them yet. they shipped fast
etrailer was fast shipping exactly what was needed great price

I want to thank you again for your assistance in getting me the correct parts for my trailer brake installation. I took three major road trips with the boat last year and the trailer brakes worked flawlessly. The major reasons I installed the braking system were: the overall weight of the boat and trailer in relationship to my pickup 2006 F150 and braking performancesafety on wetslick roads. Both of these concerns were tested last year with wonderful results. I have been telling my friends, with similar trailer packages, to investigate your product. Thanks again,
