Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the Illuminated Mini Switch.This is going to give you a clear indicator if your item is powered on or off. This is just going to be a single pole single throw, so that basically just means that it's going to direct the current from either on or off for one thing.So I can take a little closer look at it. The nice thing about this is that, again, it is going to be illuminated. So that's going to let you know whenever it's turned on or off. When it's on, the light on the switch comes on.
It's this nice red color, so it's very visible. It is going to be a 12 volt switch for that illumination. The ratings, the power ratings for this, for AC power, it's going to be rated at 10 amps for 125 volts or 6 amps at 250 volts. It can also handle 15 volts.. or excuse me, 15 amps at 12 volts DC.For the size, overall, it's about 7/8 of an inch long and about 9/16 or little under 5/8 of an inch wide.
The cutout that this will fit into will be about of an inch.There are these little tines on either side to help hold the tension in either a faceplate or a cutout that you actually have in the wall or the accessory that you're mounting this into. So there's a little bit of play there, but you want to have at least of an inch for that cutout up to maybe 7/8, but no more than that. Width-wise for the cutout, it's about half an inch. Depth coming from the surface to where that switch is is about half an.. or excuse me, about of an inch and then overall, about an inch and 1/8.That's about all there is to it for our little Mini Switch.

I used this to replace my old (32 yo) waterpump switch. I wanted an illuminated one to remind me to turn it off. I had to run a ground wire and it works perfectly. I hope it lasts as long as the old switch (which still works!)
