Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the single rocker switch. This is going to be a single pole dual throw switch. So basically if you think of two circuits that this is going to control, it's going to divert power from one to the other. So it just gives you one pole, or one bit of power, to switch between two things. So you can switch between a light that's going from a low setting to a high setting, or something similar to that. These are going to be available in black or white. They have the exact same specs, the exact same size, it's just one is available in a different color from the other. We're going to take a closer look at the black one here.
We can zoom in a little bit so you can actually see this little guy. But you can see it's just a simple switch. It's just going to switch that power from one circuit to the other, or from one pathway to the other. The rating for this, for the power, is 16 amps for 125 volts, 12 amps for 250 volts AC, and it can run a three quarter horsepower at 125 volts up to 250 volts AC. It can also run a 10 amp circuit at 14 volts DC.As far as size goes, the cutout needs to be about half a an inch, maybe a nine sixteenths. The switch will be held in by the tension of the four little prongs, two on either side, so you need to have at least an inch and an eighth of space for that to fit into.
It could maybe go out to an inch and a quarter, but somewhere in between there should fit pretty well. The snugger that opening, the better it's going to hold in place. If you have the option to cut the hole fresh, it's better to err on the smaller side and then wattle it out if you need to.The overall size of the switch, from the outside edges, is just barely shy of three quarters of an inch wide and then an inch and a quarter long. And the depth is about three eighths of an inch.Again, it comes in black or white, all the features the same otherwise. They are made in the USA. And that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the single rocker switches.
I hope this has been helpful in deciding if one of these is going to be the right one for you.We do have other options available here at etrailer.com. So check them out if you're interested. Thanks for watching.

The switch is working perfectly. I needed an on-on switch so I could turn the water pump on and off in my van from the kitchen and the rear outdoor shower. Easy to install and works great.
Quick order and exactly what I needed to finish the project in my SUV.
