Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer, and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the JR Products double rocker switch right here on our enclosed trailer. So our double rocker switch is also gonna come in other colors, which you can easily find on our website just like our white one here, or maybe, if you had black buttons or switches inside of your trailer, you could easily switch to that switch instead. That way, you can match the aesthetic of your trailer. So the installation of the JR Products double rocker switch is fairly simple. We already had switch that we we're replacing it with, so I only had to add on my wiring for my exterior lights to the other switch. Even then it's just a couple of spade terminals, super easy to do.
You could easily knock this out in 10 minutes if you're just replacing an existing switch, maybe a little bit longer if you're having to run wiring to an additional light. All right, so to connect to our switch, we're gonna have to strip back our wiring again and crimp on a spade terminal, slide on our spade terminal. Now we can go ahead and start making our connections. Make sure you have lights off to start with. Then we're gonna put our load on the bottom.
So our brown wire right here is running into that exterior light, which I'm gonna put on this one, so it's closer to the door. Our black one over here is our load going to our lights inside. I'll stick this right here, and then we have our power. I'm gonna use the bigger one over here, just 'cause that spade terminal was a little bit smaller, so they fit nice together. And then our little jumper that I made so that I can power the other side of our switch which turns on our exterior light.
So next thing I'm gonna do is just make just a little notch over here. That way I can get my wiring in place and then we can screw in our switch. So your light switch is not going to come with some screws, so you'll have to get some yourself. Just using some wood screws here, just make sure the head's not too big. You don't want it blocking your cover from going on.
And now we can pop on our cover. So now that we have our light hooked up to our switch, we can go ahead and test it out. As you can see, the switch is easily turning our exterior light on and off. Well, I think that does it for our installation of the JR Products double rocker switch here on our enclosed trailer. My name's Kevin, thanks for watching..
