Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this dimmer switch for your RV LED lights. A nice thing about a dimmer switch is that you can set the brightness level that you want for it. So early in the morning, when your eyes aren't used to a lot of light yet, you can have this dim. So you just get enough light that you can see where you're going without being a shock to your system. Or if during the evening hours you want to have more of a relaxed atmosphere, you can always bring that down or raise it up if you want a brighter environment.
So it's really nice to have. This switch is a nice white color, so it should blend in with your interior color scheme on your RV.Because it is designed to work for RVs, it's going to be a lot more rugged than your typical dimmer switches that are built for residential use. These do have your three wires here. So your red wire is going to go to your constant power coming from your battery or other electrical source. Your black wire is going to be your ground, and then your white wire is going to connect to your light.
So make sure that you get that hooked up correctly to make sure that this will work for you.You can see there is an exposed connection piece there on the inside that will allow you to set this up for a three-way switch. So if you do have a light switch on either side of the room connecting to the one light, you can get that all set up there as well. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems and the switch is right about, say two and a half inches, maybe be two and three quarters of an inch tall. I'm going to call it just over one and three quarters of an inch wide. Your cutout that you'll need to get this installed will need to be a one and five eighths of an inch tall by one and three quarters of an inch wide. This will be great for interior lighting or exterior lighting.
Wherever that light is on your setup will work for your LED lights wherever they are. So you give you that option to control how dim or bright your light is going to be. This is made here in the USA, so you can trust it's met the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US. So if you are looking for a dimmer switch for your RV, I'd say this is going to be a great option for you. That's going to complete our look for today.
Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com, thanks for watching.
