What's up everybody it's Ajay with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out this replacement surge module for our 50 amp power watchdog, smart surge protector. This is going to be that part that you replace on the inside here after a few surges and you know down the line it burns out, you don't have to buy a whole new unit. You can just get this part. We're going to open up and put it in there. Now what you're going to do is flip it over and right away we're just going to remove some screws.

So we have 3 areas to remove from here on the backside and remove these three which is a phillips head screwdriver. And at the ends you're going to have these caps that you just unscrew. That's going to be the last thing you need to do before it opens up. Just like that. The rubber seal was caught there.

Now this is what the inside looks like. This is the board we're going to replace. Just push in on this plug. Here we go. Kind of feed that one around.

And one got tangled up with the other wires for not removing this one. We're just taking this one out. It's going to be three screws. Put those out of the way, just pop our board out. Set in a replacement module, line up the screw holes.

You'll have the two back there and one up front. So I got to flip mine around, set it into place and then re add the screws. Now we can put our plugs back together. Actually you push in, have it snapped on both sides, see how that one's sticking up still a little bit. So just push in until it snaps into place. Just like that. Now we're gonna place the cover. That all put together. It's good to go. It was really easy to replace that part. I like that I don't have to buy a whole new unit or anything. I can just quickly open that up, add that new board in there and it's good as new. And now you know how to do it too. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helps..
