Use this Quik-Receiver to replace a lost or damaged mounting sleeve, or use it to move your Genesis to a different vehicle. Simply mount it in an alternate tow vehicle so you can switch your controller between the two vehicles in a snap. Just remove your brake controller from the original bracket and slide it into this mounting sleeve. Then plug the controller into the wiring adapter (sold separately) that you've installed in the second tow vehicle.

Today we're going to review part number HA81793. This is the Hayes Quik-Receiver Mounting Bracket for the Hayes Genesis Electric Brake Controller. This mounting sleeve will replace a broken Quik-Receiver, or you can install this in a second vehicle for a simple transfer of your brake controller from one vehicle to the other. It will work with the Hayes Genesis Brake Controller, but it will also fit all models of the Hayes brake controllers. It is a very quick installation. It attaches to your dashboard with this 3M VHB, which means very-high bonding, tape. Just peel that off, stick it onto your dash, slide your brake controller right in here. They also supply you with 2 self-tapping mounting screws if you like.
On the top of the bracket there are 2 holes if you'd like to use screws instead of the mounting tape, either way. It is made of a high-impact plastic construction. It's a nice gray color, which will compliment many interiors of the vehicles. This part is made in the USA. It does come with the mounting screws and an alcohol prep pad, which helps you before you stick the tape on. You want to clean the area you're going to stick it to with the alcohol prep pad and then attach .. Peel this off and then attach it. Again, once this is mounted basically you just slide your brake controller in there, plug it in, and you're ready to go. It serves it's purpose of mounting the brake controller to the dash. The adhesive would not stick, so I had to screw it in place. Haven't had many occasions to use it, but at least I now have brakes for the tow dolly with my pickup. I use the same controller with the motorhome (only occasionally there, too).
