Video Transcript for Go Power RV Inverters 342GPTS Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at a Go Power 30 amp, pre-wired transfer switch. This transfer switch provides automatic power switching between two separate 120 volt AC input sources. It is pre-wired and circuit protected, and it's designed with special features to really help simplify and speed up the installation. So, I've popped the lid off here, give you a look internally. You can see that's all pre-wired. It includes a cable with a builtin plug to connect to inverter output, and a receptacle that powers your converter, only when shore power is available. Now, I do want to point out that the ports, like the plug right here, they're labeled so this one says, "charger," this one over here says, "inverter," and the one on here says, "shore power." So, they're labeled indicating where they go, what they connect to.

An automatic transfer switch is usually installed to allow both your inverter and shore power to alternatively feed the circuits and prevent AC back feed. Now, this automatically connects shore power when available to your breaker panel, and when unplugged from power, it then connects your inverter output to power your circuits. Now, a transfer switch is a great option when it comes to powering the central distribution panel, which is where all the RV circuit breakers are located when power is needed, when you're not plugged in to a camp ground pedestal or shore power. The plastic enclosure is strong and durable, protects everything inside. Now, the box itself, I took measurements, at the widest points, which would actually be here at the top, 'cause you'll notice that the box kind of tapers out. So, edge to edge going this direction is about 8-5/8," edge to edge this direction is about 7-3/8," and then the overall height is about 4-1/8".The mount holes on the unit, like these right here, these are separated on center, going this direction by 8-13/16," and then going this direction, the mount holes are separated on center by 5-7/8".

That's gonna do it for today's look at the Go Power 30 amp, pre-wired transfer switch.

  • Recommended Cargo Trailer Air Conditioner and AC Power Wiring
  • For your AC power Setup and Air Conditioner additions, I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Ceiling Vent and Start Capacitor # ACM135C. This air conditioner will allow you to simply cut a 14-1/4 by 14-1/4 inch square hole (standard roof vent size) where you want to mount the unit. I've attached the installation instructions to help with placement and mounting. We do not carry the AC power outlets or panel with breakers, but we do carry the Go Power Transfer Switch - Quick...

  • Can Go Power Transfer Switch 342GPTS Control Generator AC Output to Deliver it to Battery Charger
  • The Go Power Transfer Switch # 342GPTS that you referenced is intended to give you convenient switching between two AC power sources, such as shore AC power at a campground and AC output from a generator. You can use this transfer switch to take your generator's AC output and deliver it to your battery charger to maintain your batteries.

  • Troubleshooting Low Power from Shore to Transfer Switch
  • It sounds like you have a short in your Power Cord wiring as there isn't anything between the power cord and the Go Power Transfer Switch # 34270278 as they are directly wired. I've attached a video of the Go Power Transfer Switch - Quick Connect - 30 Amp # 342GPTS which shows these connections. If you don't use and in-line circuit breaker like # CAM55306 then there has to be an issue with the wiring or the ground on the transfer switch itself.
