go power 30 amp automatic transfer switch

This transfer switch has been pre-wired to automatically change the primary source of AC current from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. To prevent electrical interruptions, the time delay circuit board allows the alternate power source to stabilize before a transfer occurs. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment.

Automatic Transfer Switch Installation

There are several wiring configuration options, depending on the electrical application inside your RV. With this transfer switch, you will need to wire each component individually. This could include an inverter, a converter charger, shore power (or an on-board generator), and an AC panel.

cord knockouts

The plastic case also has cord knockouts for other connections.

Wiring Example

transfer wiring example

In this wiring example, the transfer switch selects between the inverter and shore power (or an on-board generator). The converter is also capable of charging the batteries while shore power is active. Lastly, the AC panel is powered by either the inverter or shore power, depending on which is currently providing power at the time.

The product was easy to install and worked when I turned on the power. I installed it in my Toy Hauler along with an Inverter. I just installed it so time will tell but it seems to work well so far. 587744

I switched to Lithium batteries and a 2000W Inverter in my RV. I also rewired my Electrical system to be able to run all but the air conditioner off my Inverter. Part of the rewiring included adding this transfer switch to my system. It switches between Inverter or shore power/generator power. It is easy to wire up and works great. I highly recommend this for anyone needing to switch between different power sources. Great product. Well worth the money. 703965

Ask the Experts about this Go Power RV Transfer Switch

  • Will Two 12V Batteries be Enough to Power the 3000W Go Power Inverter # 34275013 for a Short Time
You can use two 12V batteries to power the Go Power Inverter # 34275013 but that all depends on what size 12V batteries you plan on using what "short periods of use" means. I reached out to my contact at Go Power and he said that if you are using deep cycle batteries and the load is not too excessive then you should be fine. For example, if you were trying to pull the full 3000 Watts out of the inverter that would be about 26 Amps AC or 260 Amps DC. If you were to run this for a half...

  • Using Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch to Switch Between Shore Power and Solar Power
The Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 34264403 that you referenced is a good way to automatically switch between shore power (when available) and an inverter that's being powered by solar charged batteries. It is always going to use shore power if it's present, and as long as the inverter is on, it will automatically switch to it once shore power is disconnected. For this type of setup, starting at the roof, you will of course first need the solar panels like the 200 watt # 34272628....

  • Transfer Switch for Use in RV that Has Progressive Dynamics 45 Amp Power Center
Any time you have more than one AC power source you need to use a transfer switch like the # 34264403. This kit will automatically switch from the inverter power to shore power when available. But since you have a 45 amp power center and the transfer switch you referenced is only designed for 30 amps you'd want the 50 amp Furrion Transfer Switch part # F50ATS. I attached a picture that shows the connectors that this uses. You'd want to run 6 gauge wire stripped back into the pins and...

  • Recommended Power Transfer Switch for Three AC Power Sources
I do have an option for you but none of our power transfer switches will allow you to switch between three AC power sources. However, I do have a way for you to do this but you will need to install two power transfer switches like the Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch part # 34264403 for example. A transfer switch will have a single dominate side. So how the input is wired into the switch will affect how it passes power through, so two switches could be wired as you have suggested using...

  • What Type of Transfer Switch is Needed to Run Coffee Maker or Toaster that Draw 1,000 Watts
Basically you'd need a little over 10 amps of power at any given point based on the wattage of the accessories you mentioned so the 30 amp transfer switch part # 34264403 would easily work really well since it has about 3 times the amperage requirement. This would be a really solid choice that would work well so I recommend it for you! We also don't have anything lower amperage either.

  • Is Time Delay Feature on Go Power Transfer TS-30 Switch 34264403 Manual or Automatic
The instructions for the Go Power Transfer Switch # 34264403 do refer to a "time delay module" that automatically gives generators a brief time to warm up and stabilize their output before it is connected to the load side of the system. This is not a switch you need to operate. The automatic delay feature allows between 15 and 20 seconds for stabilization. I confirmed this with my contact at Go Power. This feature can be bypassed but Go Power recommends leaving it active for safety...

  • How Does Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 34270278 Connect to Shore Power and Inverter
The Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 34270278 that you are interested in was designed to automatically switch power sources between an inverter or an AC power source. You'd want to run the inverter you have now to this as well as the power source wiring from shore power and this would automatically take care of your AC power needs/switching. Basically your battery would connect to the inverter, the inverter to the # 34270278 and then the # 34270278 to your fuse panel. This does not...

While we strongly recommend using an Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch like part # 34264403 to do this process the Bulldog Quick-Connect Set w/Dust Cover part # BDW20018 could be used. The recommendation is because if you or a friend using the camper forgot to disconnect the quick connects this woud lead to issues in the camper when plugged in. It is an easy and reliable way too prevent accidents.

  • What Prevents Back Feed Into Solar Controller When Connected to Shore Power or Generator
Solar kits and battery chargers are completely separate systems and do not interact with each other aside from making contact with the same battery bank. They do not come into direct contact with one another. The battery charger and solar system both provide charge to the battery bank so there is no back feed. A battery charger # 331-BCDC1225D regulates the flow of power to a battery bank by measuring the voltage level and slows down charge or stops it according to this value. A solar...

With that being said, I think you might be looking for a transfer switch like the Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch - Plastic Case - 30 Amp - 120V # 34264403 which will allow you to alternate between 2 separate 120V AC inputs to feed your RV's breaker panel.
