Video Transcript for 3M Wiring 44-5310A Review

Today, we're going to review part number 44-5310A. This is the 3M ring terminal for 12 to 10 gauge sized wire with a ring inside diameter of 3/16ths of an inch. These ring terminals are used for all types of electrical work where wires need fastening. This one is for use with a 10 or 12 gauge sized wire. It does have the vinyl insulation sleeve, which is yellow, and then the ring terminal, the inside diameter is 3/16ths so it is designed to fit on a stud size of 3/16ths of an inch. Basically, want to show you here, I got an example right here of a 12 gauge sized wire. What you would basically do is just side this into ...

You don't really want to have it sticking out. You could, but what I like to do is put it right there. Then, you're going to crimp, have a set of . This is a wire stripper with, down here is the crimping portion. If you just stick that in the very .. Put it right over there and then all you have to do is push down just like that.

Once you push down and hard enough, you can see that it crimps that wire to this ring terminal. You can see that you have a good connection. That's the reason I don't like to have the wire stick out too much because you don't want any of that exposed so if you just keep it under that insulation sleeve, you should be in good shape. That should do it for the review on part number 44-5310A. This is the 3M ring terminal for 12 to 10 gauge sized wire with the 3/16ths inch ring inside diameter. .

Worked well with everything downstream of the primary wiring. Just wasn't big enough for the primaries, got that at a local hardware store.

Quick service/delivery. Nothing really exceptional about these. Frankly, wish I had gotten some with heat shrink.

Had this sent to the person I purchased my Used Lance 1030 from before picking it up. He said this was a Super High Quality Product! Nice and Color Coded Heavy duty terminals. His Electrician is removing the end of the Lance plug so I can just use the 7 bladed plug at the end of the bed of my truck next to my License plate (2017 F350 PSD, DRW Super Cab, 8 Foot bed)

  • Wiring a Side Marker Light to the Running Light Wire on a Trailer
You can run a jumper wire to T-off from the main running light wire to the side marker light using something like a quick splice connector, # 562. Or you can use a butt connector, # 05732-2. In one end, place the wire from the trailer connector and in the other end insert the wire from the side marker light and the wire to the tail light. You would need to cut the brown wire at some point to wire it in this manner. And yet another option is to run the side marker wire all the way...

  • New Side Marker trailer Lights are Very Dim
It sounds like a bad ground connection. Ground problems normally show up when there is more draw on a system such as when you have the running lights on and then use another function like a turn signal or brake light. But can also appear when changing out lights. Make sure that the vehicle side and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out. The main connector grounds should be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. The light grounds...

Yes, the listed price for the Fastenal # 44-5310A is for 1 ring terminal. This is designed for use with 12-10 gauge wire and features a 3/16 inch stud. I have attached a short video review that you can check out as well.

  • LED Tailgate Light Bar Only Works Without Taillights On
I am sorry to hear about the issue you are having with your light bar. The problem you described sounds like a ground issue. If you have a light bar that plugs directly into a 4-way then I would remove the ground from the 4-way and then attach it directly to a bare metal surface on the vehicle with a ring terminal part # 44-5310A and self-tapping screw part # 101131802. The majority of issues like what you described are caused by a bad ground as the circuit cannot handle the extra load...

  • Best Way to Power Lights in Enclosed Trailer
Ok, we can give you some guidance on this, and the best way to power up interior lights in your enclosed trailer is with an independent 12 volt battery mounted directly on the trailer. To do this, mount the battery with Battery Box # TLA7708R and use a junction box like # 38656 to tap into your 7-way so the battery gets a maintenance charge when you are hooked up to the 7-way. If you need to hook up your junction box it will require ring terminals # 44-5310A, and 12 gauge wire # 12-1-1...

Since your 7-way trailer connector on your 2017 Toyota Sequoia was factory-installed, all needed fuses, circuit breakers or wiring connections should have been completed either at the factory or at least by the dealership. The 12V auxiliary power feed on the 7-way will be fuse- or breaker-protected (usually a 40-amp). You might just double-check the fuses since the label or marking on the 12V feed could say different things. You are correct that the ignition key usually controls the 12V...

  • Lance Camper Wiring Harness Recommendation
There is not a plug and play adapter for your Lance connector that we are aware of. Typically this is installed by the Lance dealer. A junction box/7-way plug kit like etrailer # e99011 is an option you have to convert the camper to match the 7-way RV blade type connector format.
