Today we're going to take a look at the replacement support rod for the Extang eMAX Tonneau covers. Now this part will replace the support rod on your Extang eMAX soft Tonneau cover. This support rod is what is used to hold the Tonneau cover in the upright position. It is a ball and socket connection on each end. You just push the sockets onto the ball to make your connection. And there are two different ends, so you want to make sure you get them connected correctly.

This end here, it's just a regular clip on it. This will just push onto the ball that's located on the bedrail portion. This end here. Let me just zoom in here and show you. This one has a little red latch that you'll open and close and that'll connect to the Tonneau cover.So basically what you'll do is when you...

This'll be along your bed rail, and then when you lift up and open your Tonneau cover, there's a ball on the Tonneau cover. You would raise this rod, push it onto the ball, and it'll hold the Tonneau cover in the upright position. And then when you're ready to remove it, you just push on this red latch, and that'll release the tension on it. You can move it, drop it down, and then drop your Tonneau cover down for storage.The length on this, which will be measured center to center from one ball socket to the other. It's going to be right at about 17 1/4 inches.
