Today we're going to review Part Number 490EZ-SS. This is the Excalibur Stainless Steel Trailer Wheel Center Cap, designed to fit a wheel with pilot hole diameter or 4.9 inches. This is a rust proof, polished, stainless steel cap. It has a removable plug. This polished would add a nice decorative finishing touch to your trailer wheels. Again, the center hole of the wheel that this fits on, should measure 4.9 inches in diameter. The overall heighth on this center cap is going to be right at 4 3/8 inches tall. The way you would install this, I actually happened to pull a wheel ...
Usually an eight lug wheel has the large center board that this cap would fit on. Here's a trailer wheel that this would fit on. Basically, when you go to install this, before you put your wheel onto your trailer, you'll take your center cap . The center cap has a little lip to it. What you would do is, run it through the back and push it all the way through, and that would hold it into there.
Then, when you bolt your wheel onto your trailer and tighten down your lug nuts, that will hold the center cap in, so it won't go anywhere. I didn't mention, also, it has the center, removable plug. The reason that is, is it's designed for if you use this on a trailer that has EZ lube axles. On EZ lube axles, on the very end of the axles, they'll have a zerk fitting to allow you to grease it. Basically, to access that, you'll need to be able to get to that zerk fitting. On the center removable plug, there's a little cutout.
If you put a screwdriver behind there, you'll be able to pop that center cap out. Then, you'll see it opens it up and gives you access to that zerk fitting, so you don't have to take the wheel off to get access to the EZ lube axles. With the cap on there, just pop out the center. When you're done with it, just go ahead and push that center cap right back in and you're ready to go. That should do it for the review on Part Number 490EZ-SS, the Excalibur Stainless Steel Trailer Wheel Center Cap to fit on a wheel with a 4.9 inch pilot hole diameter. .
