Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement socket for the 1000-pound tongue weight head on the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems. Now this part here will fit the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems that are rated for 10,000 pounds gross towing weight capacity and 1000 pounds tongue weight capacity. Basically, this will insert into the head assembly and provides an attaching point for your one spring bar. I just wanna pop up an insert to show you there's what this socket would look like when it's installed onto that head assembly. Now, I'll see the dimensions on this, the overall size of this is 2 inches by 2 inches.
The inside measurement is 1 3/8 inch by 1 3/8 inch and they have two different size pin holes. You can see on this end, there's a larger pin hole. This one, there's a smaller pin hole, the larger pin hole, it's gonna measure right at 5/8 of an inch and then the smaller pinhole is right at 1/2 of an inch. And this is for a quantity of one socket. But that should do it for the review on the replacement socket for the 1000-pound tongue weight head on the Equal-i-zer weight distribution system.

Exact replacement. Unfortunately already developing stress cracks.
Fits perfectly. Feels like better quality than what was on the hitch from factory.
This part was easy to find on the etrailer site. The price seems reasonable. Shipping was quick. The reason I rated four stars instead of five is because the part came without any finish coat, just bare steel. The OEM parts came with a black finish.

This worked perfectly. The dealer incorrectly installed a non-equalizer tow ball, and when we made turns, it had started to crack the socket. I was able to replace the cracked socket with this, and have had no issues.
I discovered that my Equal-i-zer hitch had a cracked weight bar socket 5 days before leaving on a 3500 mile camping trip. I wasn’t able to secure a replacement socket from the manufacturer and none of the trailer hitch companies near me had the part in stock. My local RV dealer suggested I see if etrailer had it in stock. Thank goodness they had the part and with 3 day shipping I received the socket on time with enough time to paint and install it before our trip. Thanks etrailer for coming to our rescue.

I bought these as a replacement if the sockets in my older equalizer hitch. Although I have not yet installed these, they seem heftier than my older sockets.

This is a high wear point on the weight distribution system. I was happy to be able to replace them. Fit with no problems.
It’s well made, but doesn’t not come black as shown in picture. It’s unfinished so I’ll need to paint it. That’s after I remove the sticker that had the barcode on it and then probably use goo gone. Would have been nice if they used something else to tag the product in the warehouse that didn’t involved adhesive on a surface that needs to be painted. Otherwise, well made and will do the job
