Did not fit 2023 F350. Guaranteed to fit, doesn't always fit. etrailer said sorry, send it back. I thought more would have been done to make things right. A lot of time and effort wasted. BTW the Curt hitch is way better than this one

This is my first gooseneck hitch and so far no issues. The install took both myself and my friend about 5 hours on my 2018 F250. You definitely need a second set of hands and it's preferred if one of you did weightlifting cause the hitch plate is HEAVY!! Just make sure when reading the instructions you really look where they notated where the front of the vehicle is cause it can get a little confusing.
One tip that helped us out a lot and saved our arms is before putting in the hitch plate drill the hole for the ball opening, use a jack in the bed with a ratchet strap or some kind of strong strap, put the strap through the hole of theb bed and through the hole of the hitch plate then put a metal bar or something strong that will support the hitch plate. Then take the strap and put it on the jack and jack it up. This will pull the hitch plate up to the bottom of the truck bed and allow you to bolt it in and save your arms from becoming putty.

Great product and it gets used regularly. The quick release is very convenient. My only complaint is that there are no options for an extended gooseneck ball. Similar to the Draw Tite 5" extension. This hitch will not allow you to install a conventional pin to use the draw tite extension as there is a thick piece of metal in the way. The quick release on the ball is the only option.

Good hitch. Love the drop and lock ball way more than my old hide-a-goose turnover ball. Installed it myself and only had to unbolt the brake like bracket. Left spare tire and exhaust in place. Put the ball in the center piece and slid it up and had my neighbor hold it by the ball while I put the conicals and nuts on.

by:

Good hitch easy install just had to loosen the bed bolts to fish the nut plates above the frame other than that pretty straight forward

by:

I installed the hitch on a 2011 F-150 crew cab with 5 1/2 ft bed. Works perfect with no clearance issues between the truck cab and a platform style gooseneck trailer. Well engineered product.

I would recommend using a lift and removing both rear tires and the spare for more working room. I also marked and drilled the hole for the ball from underneath the bed for a perfect fit.

Installs very easy thank you

I couldn't have picked a better hitch for the price! I took it to a local business (Carolina welders, Laurinburg NC) and it took him only an hour to install and it installed perfectly! In two days I had my horse trailer hooked to it and I haven't had an issue since! And when I'm not hauling a trailer I easily flip the ball and I slide my dogbox in! I was skeptic about ordering but I do not regret my decision ANY!!! Love this hitch!

by:

Great product, I watched etrailers videos on installation of the hitch before it arrived and began disassembley of the truck, the video is very helpful in understanding the instructions with the hitch, the hitch arrived early in the day on the arrival date etrailer gave me, so I was able to finish installation that day. Thanks etrailer, Jason

I haven’t pulled with it yet, but installation went well and it it a strong and well made item.

by:

Yes I have had the hitch installed in my truck about a year now and it has done me well. I was pulling a 9 bail hay trailer all last week delivering big round bails and have pulled our equipment trailer and OK Coral also with no problems. Just remember to keep the ball receiver lightly greased so you can turn over your ball eawsly. I love my hitch.

under bed gooseneck mount
2017 RAM 3500
reg cab diesel 2WD
I installed it myself sitting on the ground with the spare tire out. a bit challenging for one small guy . But got-er done.
Only residual problem, it ever so slighty touches the exhaust pipe when starting the engine.
Hauled my 26' 10000 lb trailer to Michigan and back.
Like it much better than the "universal" mount in my 96 Ram 2500 CTD.

by:

It was easy to install in my 04 f-150, we have pulled our 20ft 3 horse slant trailer all over the state of Arkansas. The hitch is still easy to open and close, I haven't done anything to it since install. When I buy a new truck, I'll get a new e-trailer hitch for it. Thanks all.

by:

Easy install once you get past the kinda confusing drawings. The safety hooks are pretty short, I just have the nuts flush with threads but can't get the hooks under them. I will have to look for longer ones. Took 3 hrs to install with having to remove hard tonneau cover and bed liner and reinstalling and clean up. Thought it would be worse!! The isolation tape they send with the hitch is kind of cheesy, hopefully it works. Was a great price!

by:

Pretty amazing service really to ship something this heavy for free and have it show up 36 hours after ordering it

by:

1)Comes with zero instructions. When you scan the little code on the packing list it comes up 404 error page not found. You then have to print them out on your home computer.

2)Holes did not line up correctly. You are constantly taking out bolts and re inserting them trying to get stuff started.

3)Unless you have a 5/8 tap to clean out the threaded holes good luck! There is so much powder coating in them bolt's won't start.

4)Takes way longer than the estimated time.

5)I have put in several goose neck hitches this is probably one of the heaviest. It was by far the worst to install.

The product itself seems to be ok, my main problem was with the installation instructions, namely the measurement as to where to drill the hole in the bed of a 2008 Ford F250 crew cab diesel short bed. I first watched and used etrailer.com's video instructions where they installed this same hitch on a 2008 Ford F250 diesel just like mine so I thought it would be pretty accurate. Well it was except for the most important part, the measurement as to where to drill the hole in the bed. On the video it said drill at 47 7/8". I should have double checked the instructions from draw-tite but felt etrailer's video would be correct. It wasn't though. After drilling the hole and realizing it was off I looked at draw-tite's instructions which said drill hole at 46 3/16" so luckily I was able to use the hole saw again to very carefully drill a hole at 46 3/16" only to find out on my truck this was wrong also as it was too short! I was able to make it work by trimming the edges where the two holes met and so now I have an oval hole instead of a circle. I measured the center of the hole after installing it and I should have drilled the hole at around 46 5/8". If I was to do it again I would have installed the plate under the bed and tightened it up and marked on the underside of the bed the center of the hole. Then removed the hitch plate and used a punch or small drill bit to drill up from bottom of bed to mark center of hole. Just make sure you know where the center is before you drill and don't just rely on the measurement given in the instructions. Luckily this was not a new truck with a nice bed and I had a plastic bedliner that covered up my mistake! Probably should have went with the B&W my buddy installed in his truck with no problems!

Very pleased with the simple design.

I
Choose this hitch based on the cross bar and frame plate design. It looked easier to install than some other brands, and it was, a simple painless install.

The cross bars easily slipped over the frame rails and under the pickup bed without a fus.

The cross bars have threaded ends built in (like bolts welded in the corners of the angle steel) that allow you to loosely hang the side brackets off the cross rails while getting everything fitted. (so you don't need 3 hands)

The U-Bolts for the frame rail helps avoid having to drill holes in the frame for additional bolts.

The ball design has good clearances to the pocket so this ball should not be getting rusted in place.

The simple spring loaded pin lock for the ball also has good clearances and just pulls straight in and out of the ball to lock and unlock from the wheel well handle.

Flipping the ball over to "hide away" means the bed can still be free and clear for loading materials.

Cutting the 3.5" hole in the bed was made simple by accurate easy measurement instructions and a readily available hole saw from the hardware store.

The carriage bolt hardware means you don't need a wrench on the backside of the bolt when tightening the nuts.

Great Product, excellent design, easy to install and use.

by:

Hitch seems to be built fairly well as far as the head and rail kit. The side plates for the frame are not even as thick as my frame rail. Didn't like that. Also a major turn off to this hitch, on my truck, a 2001 dodge 2500 short bed, the carriage bolts that hold the head to the rails, the heads hit the bed floor, enough to where the bed does not sit flush on the frame. 4 1 inch holes had to be drilled in the bed to let the bolt heads through. Also used a hare bigger hole saw than 3.5 to give some wiggle room. But the bolts hitting the floor needs to be addressed by draw tite. Wouldn't recommend for a dodge pickup

by:

I have bought from etrailer for many years now. Many hitches from a 2005 Toyota highlander hitch and wiring, to a 2012 Chrysler town and country hitch and wiring, brake controller to my most recent one a 2008 dodge ram mega cab gooseneck hitch.
Every part I have bought have fit without any modification. The YouTube videos are specially helpful. I've recieved my shipment a few days ago which was way faster then I expected. Today i woke up ready to install it, I read the instructions and watched the YouTube video went under my truck bed and started working on it.
I did mess up on the hole for the ball but that was my oops. Very satisfied.

by:

Ordered the hide a ball gooseneck hitch I had it in 4 business days with the free shipping, and if that wasn't good enough I found a cheaper priced hitch on another site after I bought it, and etrailer refunded me the difference plus 5% and lowered the price online so that the customers are getting the best bang for the buck with hands down the best customer service I have encountered yet. As far as the hitch goes it comes with plenty of instructions and all the hardware and took a buddy and I 2 hours from start to finish to complete.

Great product, great service

by:

A great hitch. Follow the instruction timeline and you'll B OK May not be for the weekender as we have 13K Challenger lift. Does have a very close bracket to the 7500 Airlift Bag system but it clears. best deal for this year truck

by:

Went in relatively easy, relative because I did this by myself (at 72) without removing anything except a small bracket above the pumpkin. Just used a piece of all-thread (for the length) down through the bed and the hitch to hold it up to attach the bolts. Everything fit perfectly and it is easier with two people and removing half of the truck but I've always hated taking things loose if I don't have to, and besides, it was a challenge.
Sprayed any bare metal with Trim (flat black) spray that matches the sprayed in bed liner perfectly.
Biggest pain was having to buy both the hole saw and drill bit despite having an extensive (but obviously not complete) collection of both types.
This is my first gooseneck that didn't have the turnover ball type, but it looks to be superior since you have to climb in the bed anyway to flip the ball and I've had problems with the ball freezing in place after having not been used in a while.

by:

Seems to be an excellent product. Down graded a star because there were no instructions include with the product and the QR code brought up a “page not found” looking forward to pulling with it.

by:

Havent had it installed yet but the trailer guy who is going to do it is impressed for the money and says it will be an easy install..
