Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Electric Winch 6495 Review

Today we're going to review part number 6495. This is the Draw Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Winch Mounting Plate. Now this part is designed to install into your front receiver hitch and it allows you a spot to where you could mount your winch to and also easily remove it out of the hitch receiver if necessary. Does have a 2 inch solid shank right here to install into a 2 inch receiver opening. The receiver mount right up here itself is all wielded, made of a 1/4 inch thick plate, very heavy and if you'll notice on the plate itself it does come with 2 sets of 4 mounting holes and they are drilled at the 2 industry standard measurements for winches. Basically the inner set of holes if we measure center to center we're going to be right at 6 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches for the inner holes. The outer holes will be the industry standard 10 inches by also 4 1/2 inches.

They've got 2 different sets that you can use for the majority of the winches out there. Has a nice durable black powdered coat finish helps resist corrosion. Right up here you can see this are your fairly mounting points, you can mount your fairly to this. Once your winch is on here, your cable or rope would come out this way through the fairly. We also offer a optional handle guard kit. It's part number 698O that we sell separately.

It is listed on this product page as related product and what it is nice about that they are 2 handles, big, large metal handles and they would bolt underneath onto the plate and then with those handles it will make it easier to pick up and install into the vehicle, makes installation a lot easier and because the handles are right on the side here and they are very heavy duty. They also protect the winch from getting hit, it protects it. Now this is a universal design and because of the dual mounting patterns, it will support most major winch models out there. Would include the Ramsey models, some of the Warn models, some of the super winch models and numerous other brands that haze those bolt patterns. Now a few measurements on this, I want to give you the overall length and width of this. If we put a ruler on, it's going to be 13 inches and if we measure, and if you lift this up, from here to here that's going to be right at 7 3/4 inches and then the shank measurement from the edge of the plate to the end of the shank is going to be right at 7 3/8 inches long.

But again what you would end up doing is mounting your winch to one of those bolt patterns and then what you'd be able to do is slide this right into your front hitch, put your pin and clip in, and you'd be already to go. That should do it for the review on part number 6495, the Draw Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Winch Mounting Plate. .

  • Hitch-Mounted Winch Mounting Plate for Badlands Winch
  • We offer several hitch-type winch mounts that fit a 2-inch hitch. These include the Curt # C31009 with handles, Curt # C31010 without handles, the Draw-Tite # 6495 and Bulldog # BDW20011 among others. All are shown on the linked page. Most winches will bolt right up to these mounts since they use industry-standard mounting hole spacing but it is possible that a certain winch might req

  • Measurement of Curt Front Hitch 31026 for Ford F-150 to Determine Winch Mount Compatibility
  • Curt front-mount hitch # 31026 is a confirmed fit on your 1992 Ford F-150 and to help you confirm the right clearance for your application with a winch mount I went to our warehouse and measured one key dimension that will help you determine this. Please refer to the linked photo. I measured from the front mounting holes on the hitch mounting brackets to the hitch pin hole in the receiver tube and found that the hole center to hole center distance was 4-1/4-inches. So if you check...

  • Where to Mount Winch To Pull Vehicles Up Onto Car Hauler
  • Since hitch adapters like what you mentioned end up cutting the capacity of the hitch they are installed in by half the best solution is to mount the winch to the trailer so that you can avoid all of that. You could purchase a Hitch Receiver tube and have it welded to the the trailer frame like part # E-9. With a piece like this welded to the frame, you could use the Winch Plate # 6495 mount to attach your winch. Then you could use the winch part # 1220210 to pull things up onto your...

  • Mounting Plate for Warn Winch 8274 and Front Hitch for 1993 Ford F-350
  • There is a winch mounting plate that is confirmed to fit your Warn winch M8274, though it is not from Bulldog. Instead, you'd want the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Winch Mounting Plate # 6495. To use it with your 1993 Ford F-350 the front mounted hitch I recommend is the Curt # 31311, which is a confirmed fit for two wheel drive versions of your truck and is a bolt-in installation. I've added a link to a video review of the winch mounting plate for you to take a look at.

  • I wish we did, but at this time we do not have a winch mount for the factory front or rear bumper of your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited. Only solution we'd have is a front hitch like the part # 65079 with a hitch mounted winch plate like the part # 6495.

I have included an installation video of this hitch on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for you. • The Draw-Tite Front Hitch, # 65061, does not require removal of the tow loops for installation. I have provided a link to installation instructions for you to review. Although Removal of the Tow Loops is required for installation of the CURT Front Mount Hitch, # C31068, they are only removed so that the front hitch can be sandwiched between the frame and the tow loops, so they are not lost, but reinstalled with the front mount hitch. • The Curt Front Mount Receiver, item # 31352, has a 9,000 Lbs. Max. Line Pull, and lower fascia trimming may be required on some models. The part that may need to be trimmed is the plastic fascia that is attached to the bottom of the chrome bumper on some models. If this plastic piece is not installed on your vehicle you will not have to trim with the Curt receiver. The Draw-Tite Front Receiver, item # 65043, for your 2005 F-150, has a 9,000 Lbs. Max. • What is Weight Capacity of Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch Receiver Winch Mounting Plate # 6495
  • I checked with my contact at Draw-Tite and they said that the Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch Receiver Winch Mounting Plate, part # 6495, is designed for use with winches up to a 9,000-lb line pull rating. The reason for the 9,000-lb maximum is because he said most all of the front mount receiver hitches are only designed for winches with a maximum line pull rating of 9,000 lbs, so the front hitch on the vehicle will be the limiting weight capacity.
