Video Transcript for Review of Draw-Tite Heavy Duty Receiver Hitch - Mounting Brackets - 4907

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the seven inch mounting bracket kit for the Draw-Tite class V service body trailer hitches. Now, these are universal mounting brackets that'll let you mount the trailer hitch cross tube to the frame of your heavy-duty or commercial vehicle. These brackets are required for installation of either the Draw-Tite class V service body hitch. Part number 41990 or part number 41991.

Both of those we do sell separately on our website. And I just wanted to show you the picture of there's what the cross tube looks like with the hitch receiver in the middle. Now, I did mention two part numbers. The difference in those two part numbers are just the length of the tube. One, it's 44 inches long.

The other is 66 inches long. And as I mentioned, we do carry both of those on our website. Now, these brackets are designed to install to the vehicle. They are either a weld-on, or you can see the holes for a bolt-on installation. And again, another insert just to show you what the cross tube looks like with these brackets installed.

Basically, the bracket right here has a square opening on it that'll slide onto each end of the hitch cross tube. And then you slide it along the tube and adjust it to fit the frame width that's needed for your application. And then it's welded onto the cross tube. And then after the brackets are welded on them, then you can either bolt on or weld on the brackets and cross tube to your vehicle's frame. Now, once these are installed, the center of the hitch receiver opening will be about seven inches from the top of the vehicle's frame rail.

Basically, when you install these brackets, this top here will be right at the top of the vehicle's frame rail and the hitch tube will be in here. So, if you measure from the top here down to the center, let me just show you, it should get you about seven inches. That's your seven inch drop. Now, these are a nice, black powder coat finish over an e-coat base to help resist corrosion. Has two plates, one for each side. Measurements on the plates themself, we measure the width from here to here. You can see it's gonna be right at nine inches wide. And the overall height from the very bottom of the plate to the top of the plate is about 9 1/2 inches tall. But that should do it for the review on the seven inch mounting bracket kit for the Draw-Tite class V service body trailer hitches..

Defiantly looks like a great product! I’m using it for more than just a trailer hitch, so hopefully it will work. But I can’t say enough for the help I got from the staff, especially Jamie B !

Great product. But even better Sevice from etrailer as usual. Always a great buying experience.

1954 3100 Chevrolet. Ya just aren't going to get a hitch at Walmart for this truck. This is an awesome solution! Ya have to be able to weld but the end result is great! Thanks George!

  • Trailer Hitch Option for Mitsubishi Fuso Truck
The Draw-Tite # 41990 would be a good choice for your truck pictured, as long as the outside to outside distance between the frame members isn't greater than 44 inches. You'll also need a weld-on bracket kit like part # 4907, which would give you a 7 inch drop from the underside of the truck frame members to the underside of the receiver tube.

  • Front Trailer Hitch Receiver for Winnebago RV on 2010 Ford E-450 Chassis
The correct front mount hitch that fits your Winnebago RV on a 2010 Ford E-450 chassis is the Draw-Tite # 65053. This installs so it is somewhat hidden by the front bumper but you will need to trim some fascia for it to fit properly. Attached is an installation video of this hitch on a 2016 E-Series motorhome for you to check out.

  • Approximate Cost for Weld-On Hitch Installation By Professional Certified Welder
To install the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube # 41990 along with brackets like # 4907 will roughly take between 3 and 5 hours for prep, welding, and painting to seal the metal. There are many different hourly rates depending on the shop but in general, a shop cost will be somewhere between 65 and 125 dollars an hour. I recommend shopping around for the best local price and reputation. If you have a certified welder outside of a shop with the proper equipment,...

  • Possible Hitch Solution for Mitsubishi Fuso Truck
The part # 41990 and brackets # 4907 are a universal fit style of hitch that could be made to fit your Mitsubishi Fuso potentially. Since it's never been tested on your vehicle we have no idea what it would take to make the hitch fit but we do know it could work. These parts are basically the foundation for a custom fabricated solution. Beyond that you'd want to find a qualified fabricator in your area who can complete the install.

Sounds like you have a box van. I wish I could recommend one of our custom fit hitches as a guaranteed fit for your vehicle but in reality we can't. • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 1998 Utilimaster Step Van
The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube # 41990 will definitely be a good option for your 1998 Utilimaster step van, as long as the frame is not longer than about 44" as you will need some cross tube for the brackets to be welded on. As to the brackets, the correct ones will depend on how low the bumper sits from where the hitch will be mounted to the frame. I checked your order notes and it looks like your ordered the part # 41990. You should note that this isn't intended as a front mount hitch and to install it you would normally want the part numbers # 4907 for 7 inch brackets or part # 4916 for 16 inch brackets. However, I did attach a link to the install instructions for this hitch for you to check out. I also attached a diagram from the instructions that shows how it would install using the brackets.

  • Do I Need A Class IV Receiver Hitch For My 2014 Forest River Forester With Ford E450 Chassis
No you do not, provided you never flat tow a vehicle that is heavier than your motorhome's maximum gross trailer weight. Your Ford E450 chassis has the same weight limit has your hitch receiver, so it does not make a difference if you get a hitch receiver with a greater weight limit. The chassis will still limit how much weight you can flat tow.
