Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the replacement brake shoes for the Titan 12" by 2" Galphorite Free-Backing Hydraulic Trailer Brakes. Now these shoes are designed to work with the Titan 12" Galphorite Free-Backing Hydraulic Trailer Brakes. They will work with the part numbers T4489600 and part number T4489500. Both of those brake assemblies, we do sell separately on our website.

And again, it is designed to fit the 12" by 2" size brake assembly. And that measurement, where they get that from is when this is installed onto your backing plate, the 12" would be the diameter, which would be measured from here to here. And then the 2" would be the width of the shoe itself, two inches.Now this is a free-backing design, and the way you can tell that on these shoes is one of the shoes will always look like a D. This'll let you reverse without the trailer brakes being activated. They are specifically designed for use with surge-style trailer brake actuators, because the hydraulic pressure is contained by the wheel cylinder.These do have the nice Galphorite plating on them, which is corrosion-resistant.

And this part is for a complete one wheel set, includes the primary and the secondary brake shoes, they are all included, and the pads length on the brake shoe as will determine the position of the shoe in your brake assembly. The shorter pad is the primary shoe, which will always face the front of the trailer on your brake assembly.
