  • What is the Difference Between a 60 Degree Cone and 90 Degree Cone for Lug Nuts
You most likely will have a 60 degree cone. That is the most common. I included a picture that shows where the 60 and 90 degrees are being measured. It can be hard to tell with the naked eye unless you have one of each next to each other to compare. I have included a second picture that shows the two side by side. The taper on the 60 degree is steeper since the angle is less compared to the 90 degree.

  • Lug Nut Torque to Use for Trailer Wheel Based on Stud Size
You likely have 1/2 inch studs on the trailer hub based on your tire size. For 1/2 inch you will want to torque the lug nuts to 75 - 85 foot pounds. For 9/16 inch lug nuts torque them to 135 - 145 foot pounds. And for 5/8 inch lug nuts torque them to 175 - 225 foot pounds.

  • Typical Trailer Lug Nut Diameter and Thread Pitch
Trailer wheel lug nuts that are 1/2-inch inside diameter typically have a 20-TPI thread pitch (20 threads per inch). Most lug nuts also use a 60-degree-coned profile like # CE11051, but a 90-degree like # STN569 is also available for 9/16-inch studs. All lug nuts we offer are displayed on the linked page. I also linked our main page for all wheel accessory items.

  • Can 60 Degree Lug Nuts Replace 90 Degree Lug Nuts
You will want to stick with the same style of lug nut, so if you use 90 degree lug nuts, stick with that. The reason is the taper on the 60 degree lug nut is steeper, so there could be fit issues depending on your trailer wheel, as they are designed for specific cones where the lug nut will be. So for a 90 degree lug nut, for 5/8" wheel bolts you will need the Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # X1148 while for 9/16" wheel bolts you will need the Dexter Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # STN569.

  • Replacement Lug Nuts For Trailer Wheels On a 2018 Jayco North Point 5TH Wheel Camper
We do not carry any lug nuts with a rubber gasket and I personally would not recommend using any rubber gaskets for lug nuts. The hubs on your 2018 Jayco North Point will generate a lot of heat from the brakes. This would cause the rubber to become soft and more prone to breakdown. That would make it easier for the lug nut to loosen. Instead I would stay with the standard lug nut for your axle. We have 1/2" Lug Nuts # CE11051 and # 12CLN or 9/16" Lug Nuts # STN569 depending on the size...

  • Why Would Trailer Lug Nuts be Difficult to Remove
Was it possible that someone used loc tite on the lug nuts and that's why they were so tight? Was there a red residue on them? The lugs will either 1/2 inch like the part # CE11051, 9/16 inch like part # STN569, or 5/8 inch like # 6-109.

    The mounting bolt size for the rotor is 9/16" for the Dexter Disc Brake Assembly - 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8K - Nev-R-Lube # K71-646-90. For lug nuts you can use the Dexter Trailer Wheel Lug Nut - 9/16" # STN569.

  • Thread Pitch of Dexter 9/16 Trailer Wheel Lug Nut STN569
On Dexter 9/16-inch lug nut # STN569 the thread pitch is 18-TPI. I went to our warehouse and did a test fit of this lug nut on Dexter hub/drum # 8-219-13UC3, which meets your description of an 8-on-6-1/2 Dexter hub with 9/16-inch studs for 7K axles.

  • What is Standard Cone Angle for Trailer Wheel Lug Nuts
There are different angled cones for the wheel lug nuts found on trailer wheels and hubs. The most common lug nut cone degree is the standard 60 degree like the part # 12CLN-L. We also the 90 degree cone with part # STN569.

  • How to Determine Correct Lug Nut/Wheel Bolts for Wesco Trailer with 3,990 lbs GAWR
Most wheel bolts/lugs have a 1/2" diameter but it isn't too uncommon to have something else. While I don't know exactly what a Wesco trailer with a GAWR of 3,990 lbs uses, I can help you figure it out. The first thing to note is whether your hubs have lugs already and your wheel mounts to them, or whether you need to hold the wheel up and secure it in place using bolts. The other thing to note is what degree cone you have. For example, the 1/2" diameter wheel bolts come in 2 different...

  • Lug Nut Size for 7,000 lb Trailer with 5-Bolt Pattern Hub and Drum Assemblies
If you're trailer has an overall weight capacity of 7,000 lbs this likely means you have a tandem axle trailer and hub and drums with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern like part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. If this is the case then it is very likely that you have need 1/2" lug nuts like part # CE11051. Should you have a older 7,000 lb axle with a 5 bolt pattern then you likely have something like the hub and drum assembly # 8-174-5UC3 which uses 9/16" bolts so you'd need a lug nut like part # 6-53 for...
