Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this Dexter bronze bushing. It's for a quantity of one. Now these bushings are designed for use with your trailer suspension system. Basically, they'll insert into the eye of a leaf spring or an equalizer to ensure proper sizing for your suspension bolts. Now one thing I did wanna mention is in 2018, Dexter has changed the material of these bushings, to an iron graphite bronze material.
Basically, the wear testing determined that this was an acceptable material to use for these bushings and this new material does have elements of iron in them and are a darker metallic color. Basically, these bushings are also oil impregnated, similar to the previous material used and is not considered a steel bushing. And to date, Dexter has not had any incidents of premature wear or anything else regarding these new bushings. Few specs on it, the inner diameter on this bushing is 57/100ths of an inch, outer diameter of 69/100ths of an inch. Total length on this bushing, if we put our ruler on it, is one in three quarter inches and as I mentioned, it is for a quantity of one bronze bushing.
Now we do also sell this in a package of four, if you needed more than one. The package of four is listed on this product page as a related product and it goes by a part number of K71-291. But that should do it for the review on this Dexter bronze bushing for a quantity of one.

Easy to install. Saw in one of etrailers videos that this bronze bushing should replace the nylon bushing in the leaf springs we got. The nylon ones pounded out okay and these bronze bushings were a nice, tight fit back in.

I give this average rating, because I did get what I ordered, but the nuts for the wet bolts I ordered are extra, i ordered a triple axle upgrade kit which everything was included, so the bolt with out the nuts are useless, on your end someone must think, he’s ordering only bolts maybe check with the customer to make sure they get all they need for a repair.

What excellent service I received. I received my shipment promptly and one of my items was ordered incorrectly. I wish I had known but was not too bummed. It was probably my mistake. The bushing fits the spring nicely. I noticed they are made from sintered bronze and will take pressurized oil nicely making them last indefinatley.

The upgrade was well worth the effort. The plastic bushings were shot and they squeaked and screeched as we towed thru campsites. We did a full rebuild with wetbolts, cushioned equalizer, heavy duty shackles, brakes and bearings. A smooth quiet ride and a sense of security resulted from the expenditure and effort. I'm 76 and I crawled under and took my time. Etrailer supplied everything at great prices and I saved a bundle by doing this project myself. Our trailer pulls smooth and quietly and braking is firm and equal on all 4 wheels. Before we leave Colorado bound for Florida this winter I will recoat the roof and caulk all the items whish penetrate the trailer. 2009 and looks like new.

My trailer had the plastic or fiber type bushings and after 12 years they were worn out, however it still pulled fine. After noticing the worn bushings I just needed to get them replaced as I like my equipment ready to go at all times. Your bushings were a simple fix to get me operational again.

I use my bumper pull tandem flatbed trailer a lot and have had to replace shackle straps, equalizer and bushings twice with it being less than 10 years old. This last time I took advice from a customer that had doubled the shackle straps and used longer bolts in shackle and spring eye. After a year, there is no visible wear yet so thinking this is an easy way to get more life when rebuilding.

I purchased a wet pin bushing kit for my trailer, this bushing was to replace one i cracked putting in. The kit worked well, found some tricks during the process. One being to ream the spring eye to make it round and consistent. Two, I made a driver to push it in and used an air hammer to install. Rest is just tedious work.

It was a very small order, I just needed a replacement bronze bushing to replace one I messed up installing a MorRyde Wet Bolt Shackle Upgrade for the leaf springs on my trailer. However, I got excellent service nonetheless. Always gratifying to receive such good service even when the monetary value is low. Makes me a repeat customer for sure!

I was very pleased with the quality of the APT4 kit I received . I had a small issue due to the kit was short 2 bolts and nuts. Etrailer toke care of the issue promptly by sending the missing parts with out question. I would use etrailer for all my future needs.

So glad we found greasable bushings, bolts and nuts to replace plastic setup on our 5th wheel while traveling. If you have Forest River you need to replace with greasable. Repair shops just do plastic if you don't know better and send you on your way!! Awesome staff and quick shipping Quality parts

- Replacement Leaf Spring BushingBronze bushings are a great option to replace what you have. They will last a very long time. For that we have the part # D014-077-00 which fits the standard size of 11/16 inch outer diameter and 9/16 inner diameter.

While there isn't a standard due to heavier trailers using 3/4" or 1" diameter bolts I do not see any 5/8" equalizer bolts. It may be that the person who told you the 5/8" bolt had measured the inside diameter of the equalizer itself. They will often have either a nylon or Bronze Bushing # D014-077-00 that protects the bolt from seizing to the equalizer.
