Today we're going to take a look at the replacement trailer brake shoe and lining kit for the Dexter 12 1/4" electric brake assembly. This one's for the right hand passenger side. Now this will replace the shoes and the lining on one right hand side 12 1/4" X 4" Dexter electric trailer brake assembly. Now this does use automotive grade friction material, which is molded to the brake shoes, and since they're fully bonded, they're not riveted to the shoes, gives you a lot longer life and more braking torque. The shoes are stamped with an "L" here for left side, "R" for right, and that's telling you what the position is these go on on your brake assembly. These, another thing to remember that'll help out is to remember that the size of the pad on the shoe, see this pad goes from here to here. This one all the way from here to here.
This is the longer pad. This is the shorter pad. The shorter pad is always the primary shoe. That'll also let you know that it faces the front of the trailer. So, that'll tell you that this is for the right hand passenger side. Now, this part does include the two brake shoes with the lining, and this is designed to fit the 12 1/4" X 4" brake assemblies for 10,000 pound heavy duty axles.
