Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexter 7" x 1-3/4" hydraulic brake shoes with the lining for on brake assembly. Now, these are replacement brake shoes for your Dexter 7" x 1-3/4" hydraulic brake assemblies. It will include everything shown here on the table. It includes the primary shoe, the secondary brake shoe, the two hold down springs, the two hold down pins and the four hold down cups. Now these parts here are designed to work with the Dexter brake assemblies part #23-398, and #23-399.
Both of those assemblies, we do sell separately on our website. Now, when we mentioned that these shoes are a primary and a secondary shoe, the reason you need to know that, is because the primary shoe, you can tell the difference between, by the length of the brake lining on the shoe. On the primary shoe, you can see it will be smaller than the secondary shoe, which is longer. And the primary shoe will always go face the front of the trailer on your brake assembly. The secondary shoe will be on the rear.
So when you do install these, you do need to make sure that the primary shoe is pointing to the front of the trailer, and the secondary shoe is in the back. Now, when we do mention that it's a 7" x 1-3/4" assembly, what that means is, when these are installed onto the brake assembly, the joint, or the diameter measured here to here, is gonna be 7". And then of course the width will be 1-3/4" which is the width of the brake lining. So there's your 1-3/4" measurement. But that should do it for the review on the Dexter 7" x 1-3/4" hydraulic brake shoes with the lining for one brake assembly..
