Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this Derale Low-Profile Sandwich adapter for a 3/4" by 16 engine filter thread size. Now this sandwich adapter will let you install an oil cooler on your vehicle to improve the performance and longevity of your engine, without having to worry about moving the factory oil filter. This part will include everything shown here on the table: includes the sandwich adapter, the 3/4" by 16 sleeve nut, the rubber O-ring, and a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this installs. Now, this low profile sandwich adapter provides the external oil lines for simple installation of your oil cooler without having to reposition the oil filter. Basically, when the oil goes through here, it allows the oil to bypass the filter via this built-in repeat valve right here when the pressure's too high.
How to install this adapter, its pretty easy. You just remove your oil filter from your engine block, and then you install this adapter between the oil filter and the engine block. Basically, you'll take this rubber O-ring, cover with a light film of oil, and then put it right into this indentation that's on here. And once you get that put in there, this is the part that'll go up against the engine block. So that'll go on just like that.
And then what you'll do is you- Now this does, this O-ring is designed to fit the filter diameters from 2 1/2" diameter up to 2 3/4". Once that's installed, then you'll take your sleeve nut, here. You can see it's threaded on both ends. Slide that through the hole in the middle, and then you'll notice on that end it has the internal threads. That is what'll thread onto your engine block.
Then what you'll do is take your oil filter that you removed and thread that right onto this threaded sleeve nut on the adapter. Now all you have to do is run your external hoses to these ports on the adapter. Now, the threaded hose barb fittings, and the hose, those items are not included. We do sell those separately. Few specs on this: the port size is 3/8", NPT size and the thickness on this adapter is about one inch.

Great product and price here @etrailer. It's a casting, so make sure to clean it before install. It fit my kawaski FR 691V engine with no leaks. I did my own plumb lines with 90 degree fittings. No problems with oil leaking or pressure. Make sure to thread in fittings deep enough and use quality pipe tape like armor (gray tape for oil and gas). Shipping here is always quick and easy

installed derale adapter and oil cooler to 14hp vanguard v-twin engine it was running 290 degrees now it runs 200 degrees. i am a welder & machinist for 35yrs and i can tell you this product is very well built.

Bri & Stra engine on a slightly used lawnmower. Item was D25770 thin Sandwich
Adaptor that looks nice and compact like I needed and wanted. Price and service
were great. Will need another soon as will be installing a cooler on my zero turn
before mowing season starts in about 8-10 weeks. Thanks and will be in touch.

Very well made oil cooler adapter. We used this on a Kohler Command Pro to replace the plastic factory adapter that cracked. This was much less expensive and better made than the factory adapter. Only small issue is tighter clearance with the filter, but that's due to the mower's specifications and was no surprise since it was a tight fit with the factory adapter. Etrailer shipped the part fast, no problems at all.

"Made In USA" cast right into part.... installation fitting and adapter is of much better quality than the Chinese piece of junk I first purchased for installing an oil pressure gauge. Installed it three times and the only place it didn't leak oil was in the trash can. Thanks eTrailer. com for posted feed back about the adapter and you fast processing and delivery.... most of all for having it at an affordable price.
