Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff, at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this replacement chrome wheel, for the Demco KarKaddy SS tow dolly. This is a replacement chrome wheel. It fits the Demco KarKaddy SS tow dolly. That tow dolly part number is 9713045.
This wheel will also work on the KarKaddy 3 tow dolly, which is part number 9713046. Demco does recommend mounting an ST 205/75R14 radial trailer tire with a load range of C on this wheel, to work on your tow dolly correctly. We do sell that tire separately, if you do need that also. It's part number AM10234. This part will just be for the one replacement chrome wheel.A few specs on this, the diameter on this wheel is 14 inches.
When you measure the diameter, it's always measured inside the inside. If I take our tape measure, and if we go inside, inside, across 14 inch diameter on the wheel, the width on the wheel is the same way, inside the insider, bead seat to bead seat. Five and a half inches on the width. The bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Demco also lists this as a five on 115 millimeter bolt pattern.
Both of those bolt patterns are the same. One's in millimeters and ones in inches, but basically, if you want to measure the bolt pattern on this wheel, since it's an odd number of lugs, in this case, five, all you have to do is pick any hole. Let's say this one. Then, you measure across to either one of these holes, but when you measure it, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to.On this wheel, it will measure five on four and a half inches, or if you're looking at it in metrics, it'd be five on 115 millimeters. This wheel is a specially designed wheel for the tow dolly.
It does have a very high, positive offset, as you can see. Basically, offset, what that is, is this mounting surface. On a standard trailer wheel, would be right at the center, which is zero offset. This one, the mounting surface is moved way towards the front of the wheel, or the outside of the wheel, which will pull everything underneath the tow dolly. This one has a plus, or a positive 42 millimeter offset. Weight capacity on this wheel is 2040 pounds. The last thing is, the pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel. Diameter of that on it is, 2.84 inches. Perfect match for my Demco Ss tow dolly. Packaging was over the top, arrived early without a scratch. This rim was definitely the real thing at the best price I could find anywhere. E trailer representatives were especially helpful when I emailed them and presented me with a chrome option as well as a Less expensive white rim for a spare tire. Been buying from E trailer for my RV needsfor years and don’t think you can go wrong.

Just okay, wheel was damaged due to shipping box being too big and not stuffed so wheeler was able to roll around in there and get scuffed. I mean i guess it’s no big deal but it was unnecessary. So that’s the reason for the lowered star rating. I’ll still put the wheel into service..

The trailer was ordered at night and shipped the following day. When it arrived it was packaged well and it's a good quality wheel. I bought this as a spare for my Kar Kaddy SS tow dolly and I ordered the mount as well. I mounted a tire to it as soon as it arrived and installed the mount.

I had to replace one of the wheels due to a factory weld breaking and the tire suddenly deflated. Being that one broke we decided to replace both wheels with new OEM wheels from etrailer. The original set had a clearcoat over the chrome that was peeling off around the vent holes in the rim, so this contributed to the decision to replace both wheels. The replacements have the same clearcoat over the chrome, and what we don't like about the clearcoat is it is a type of plastic that is static-positive, which attracts dust and dirt and the wheels look like someone dusted them with brake dust constantly. It washes off, but returns almost immediately on the road. If you find yourself in need of a wheel replacement, I suggest getting a set of alloy wheels that have better welds, better clearcoat and don't weigh as much.

This wheel is the only one that would work on my Demco tow dolly. The only negative thing is I can't use steel valve stems on it. I can't air up my tires without using an extension.

This a replacement rim for my Demco Kar Caddy SS I have had to replace both of the factory rims now due to the rims splitting at the center seam so far the replacements have not done this

You need to find better rims as we both crack and cause flats and had to spend a lot of time to loosen the hitch pivot pin as it was machines to tight
