Now this kit is used to install a battery isolator to protect your vehicle's battery from excessive discharge and to regulate current in a multi battery system. The battery isolator is what'll prevent your current from flowing from one battery to another. Now this kit is designed to work with a 95 amp battery isolator, part number DWO8770 and also the 120 amp isolator, part number DWO8771. Both of those isolators we do sell separately on our website and they're listed on this product page as a related product. This kit will include the following that's laid out on the table.

You get 15' of 8 gauge size wire, a 50 amp circuit breaker, various terminals and connectors and a nice complete set of instructions that'll describe how to install this kit with your battery isolator. Great selection and very reasonable prices, many with discounts, often cheaper than that big online site. Particularly impressed with customer service when I had a product issue, called me right away and offered replacement item immediately with free UPS return label.

  • Wiring Kit to Install Deka battery Isolator on a 2015 Toyota Tacoma
There isn't a special kit you would have to use to install battery isolator on your 2015 Toyota Tacoma unless it uses a Delco or GM CS alternator (which isn't likely). So you would use the regular kit, # DW08769.

  • How to Wire Up the 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of a 7-Way Connector
The Deka Battery Isolator Installation Kit # DW08769 would be one option for running a power wire to the 12 volt accessory circuit of your 7-way. Keep in mind that this only has 15 feet of wire which may or may not be enough for you. Typically we recommend people use a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 sold by the foot to power that circuit. The # DW08769 includes 8 gauge wire and a 50 amp breaker. Normally a 40 amp breaker like part # 9510 is recommended. For an isolation solenoid...

  • Wire Gauge For Deka Battery Isolator
Hi Walter, For the Deka Battery Isolator # DW08770 you can go with 8 gauge wire. Deka actually makes an installation kit with this wire, the Deka Battery Isolator Installation Kit for Standard Alternators # DW08769.

  • Parts Needed to Install Additional Battery in Truck for Truck Bed Camper
You will need a battery isolator like the Deka # DW08770. This will install by running between your alternator and your truck's current battery. Then the second battery will run off the isolator as well. If you need a 120 amp isolator use # DW08771. For an install kit we have # DW08769.

Yes, what you say is correct and how the 95 Amp Deka Battery Isolator # DW08770 should be wired. You can use the Installation Kit # DW08769 for some of your wiring and a 50A circuit breaker.

  • Wiring Diagram for Deka 95-amp Battery Isolator # DW08770
The Deka Battery Isolator # DW08770 is not vehicle-specific; it will work fine on your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado to protect the truck battery from excessive discharge and to regulate current in a multi-battery system. If your Silverado has a CS alternator you will use installation kit # DW08768. If it has the standard alternator use kit # DW08769. You can tell if you have the CS130 alternator by checking for its external fan with serpentine belt pulley. I have linked a wiring diagram for...

  • How do the Battery Isolators by DEKA Install on 1986 Dodge Ramcharger
The Deka Battery Isolator # DW08770 is not vehicle-specific; it will work fine on your 1986 Dodge Ramcharger to protect the truck battery from excessive discharge and to regulate current in a multi-battery system. If your truck has a CS alternator you will use installation kit # DW08768. If it has the SI alternator use kit # DW08769. The difference will be in the part number of the alternator. An SI has SI as the last two digits of the number. The other way to tell is that the SI has...

  • How Do Batteries Charge with Deka Battery Isolator DW08771
If you intend to wire the two batteries together they should be the same type but if you want to add a second independent battery for the winch/lights/stereo it can be a different type and/or have a different amp-hour (Ah) rating. A separate system means no risk of depleting your vehicle's primary battery. You want to consider the power draw of each of the items and select a battery with a high enough Ah rating. The winch will draw much more power than the lights or stereo so that is...

  • DC Power Battery Charger for Maintaining Service Battery on Dump Trailer
For charging a dump trailer's on-board battery each of the vehicles towing it needs to have a fully-functioning 7-way trailer connector. The 7-way includes an auxiliary 12V power circuit that is carried on the pin at the 1:00 position as you view the socket (please see the linked photo). This circuit can deliver trickle-charge power to the trailer battery, but to keep it fully charged you will want to install a heavy-duty DC to DC charger like # 331-BCDC1240D that takes in that same 12V...

  • Installing Battery Isolator 08771 in 2002 Ford Excursion
I have a diagram attached that shows all of the intended connectors from the Deka Battery Isolator # DW08771 to your 2002 Ford Excursion. Terminal E would connect to the an ignition circuit that's hot only when the key is switched on via a 6 amp breaker. When talking to an install technician they advised me that a 2 type alternator is not important when your goal is to just wire in a auxiliary battery. As long as the circuits are not overloaded or the power is too much for the isolator....

  • Is a Battery Isolator or Diode Needed When Charging a Trailer Battery from a 2007 Ford F-150
The 12V Power pin on your 2007 Ford F-150 (which you said is labeled as Trailer Battery Feed Hot with Key in Run Only) will provide a maintenance charge to the battery on your trailer. The only time that a battery isolator or a diode is needed is when the 12V Power would be running while the trailer is hooked up and without the tow vehicle on. Since your F-150 will only be sending power to the 12V pin you will not need an isolator or diode. If you were wanting your trailer to pull power...

  • Use of the Deka Battery Isolator # DW08771 for a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle with Deep Cycle Batteries
The Deka Battery Isolator # DW08771 is sufficient on your 1973 Volkswagen Beetle as long as the combined amperage for your dual deep-cycle batteries does not exceed the maximum 120 amp output of the isolator. If you need the installation wiring and 50-amp circuit breaker, you do need the installation kit # DW08769. I went ahead and attached some helpful videos for you to check out.

Let's try and take this one at a time to make things easier; to start with the black wire from the 7-way plug (the 12V) should be run to the pair of 12V batteries you already have in the battery box. In terms of grounding they will be grounded through your Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D. The LED lights each need to be grounded to the frame of your trailer; they will also be connected to the 12V batteries which would be connected to the charger. That covers the...

  • Adding Circuit Breaker/Fuse to Battery Isolator Installation
Regarding your 2003 Chevy Tahoe, the Deka # DW08770 Battery Isolator is not vehicle specific. I have attached the wiring directions. In the diagram where it calls for a "circuit breaker" you can also use an inline fuse. The best way to get a typical sized circuit breaker, heavy cable, and the connectors you will need to to purchase the Deka # DW08769 Installation Kit. If you do not have these already, you will need a basic voltage tester like the #PT89ZR and a good quality wire connector...
