Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline. And today we'll be taking a look at our Dahon front cargo basket for your folding Dahon bicycles right here at etrailer. So you have your Dahon folding bicycle, and you know they come in different shapes, different sizes. And if you don't know, please check out our videos right here at etrailer just to see all types of folding bikes that we have. Now, some of them can get accessories, and I have one of them.

So I have the Dahon Briza. We have the ability to add our valet truss and our quick coupler. Those are very important because you need those two things in order to attach accessories like our front cargo basket. So let's say you have your RV parked, and you're riding around the campground, or maybe you're in the city and you need to carry around groceries. What's helpful for that is cargo options.

You could get a rear rack, like is already on our bicycle, and you can attach a front rack, too, like our front cargo basket. So they uses a quick coupler. Valet truss allows you to take it quickly, easily off and on, and then you have a little bit of space for your other items for your adventure. I have a good amount of items stored in our basket. So let's take them out to take a closer look at the inside.

Before we take off the orange, notice the open design of our basket. We have it where it's far apart enough so that dirt and sand fall through, but close enough where the orange itself doesn't fall through. So let's take some measurements. Measurements for the opening is gonna be about 2 1/2 inches apart, depending on where you measure, and then the measurement for the basket itself. So length is gonna be about 11 inches.

Width or depth is gonna be about nine inches. And the inside measurement for height is gonna be six inches. And that's measured from the top of that wire all the way to the top of the basket. This is made of a tubular aluminum alloy construction, so it feels very lightweight, which is great because then you can have different items in there and focus on the 20-pound weight capacity for the cargo you have. This has a black finish on it. So it looks like a matte black coat. And I did notice through using this cargo carrier that even though I had other items, even though I dropped the bike on the ground, I didn't really notice any scratches or dents to the basket. Now, if you wanna use this basket, please make sure you have the correct bike that can have this basket added to the front of it. So please check out the quick coupler or the valet truss video, where I explain how to install it and what needs be used to install it. But along with being able to quickly take the basket off, my other favorite part about this is how it doesn't affect your steering. So whether you're turning right or you're turning left, your cargo stays steady. Very helpful. I've tried bikes with baskets in the front, and as I turn, it turns with me, and all my items fall out. This helps keep everything nice, sturdy, and safe. If you're using this as a grocery basket, using that quick coupler makes it super easy to take off. And once you're ready to ride, you just pop that back on, and you can go. My personal thoughts about the front cargo basket is that it is a little bit on the small side. So if you're planning on carrying large items, bulky items, think about the measurements and the dimensions of the basket ahead of time. I really like how it pairs with the Dahon folding bikes, though. You really do need the quick coupler and the valet truss. Would definitely get those along with the basket. And then once you have it installed, it stays there. It doesn't impact the folding process of your bike, and that steering where it doesn't affect your steering is pretty cool too. So definitely worth considering if you wanna accessorize your cool Dahon compact folding bicycle.
