Video Transcript for Curt Relay Kit Installation - 2014 Nissan Titan

Today on a 2014 Nissan Titan, we'll be installing the Pollak 7-pole vehicle end connector, part number PK11893 in conjunction with our Curt Relay Kit, part number C57000. Now to begin our install, we'll first locate the vehicle's 7-pole connector. This will be above the bumper on the driver's side. We'll go ahead and cut the tape that goes around it, holding the 7-pole connector end to the wiring harness. We'll pull it out to where we can gain access to it. Then we'll remove the 7-pole connector end weather cap. To remove the cap, we'll press on the connector lock and then pull the cap out. We'll need to install our 7-pole mounting bracket. We'll be using our Pollak 7-pole mounting bracket for vehicle ends, part number PK12711U using the Pollak install hardware kit, part number PK11926. We'll take the 7-pole bracket and secure it correctly to the hitch mounter bracket with the bolt down through the hitch mounter bracket into the 7-pole bracket and then secure it with a nut underneath. We'll have two fasteners that secure it to the hitch mounter bracket. Next, we'll take our 7-pole connector and secure it to the 7-pole bracket. Now we can take our wiring harness that we prepared and plug it into the back of the 7-pole connector.

Note we do recommend you add some dielectric grease. We'll be using the Edelman dielectric grease, part number 11755. We'll put this on the wiring connector side to help prevent corrosion between the two connection points. With our dielectric grease in place, we will go ahead and put our wire connector into the back of the 7-pole socket. Now that our connection is made, we will go ahead and take a zip tie and secure our wiring and then we'll move under the hood. Here under the hood, we will need to locate the manufacturer's relay box. It sits just behind the battery. We will remove the relay box cover and identify the three relay connectors we'll need to install.

We'll have two blue relays and we'll connect the two white relay connectors. These will activate the left and right turn signals for the 7-pole connector. We'll have one brown relay that will connect to the brown relay connector. This will activate the power circuit. Once we have all three installed, we can then go ahead and reinstall the relay box cover, though for some applications like this, we are required to use a third blue relay. This third blue relay will activate the brake signal circuit for our connector.

We will be using the tow-ready relay, part number 38666-1. This relay will need to be installed behind the interior panel on the driver's side. To make it easy to get to the relay connection point, we'll remove the kick panel. To remove the kick panel, remove the two screws at the bottom that secure it and then pull up and out, releasing the fasteners underneath. Here on the driver's side to the left of the steering column, will be three relay connection points. Two connection points already have the blue relay installed. Will go ahead and install the third one, which will be on the top of the three. Now with the relay installed, we are ready to hit the road and that does it for the install of the Pollak 7-pole vehicle end connector, part number PK11893 in conjunction with the Curt Relay Kit, part number C57000 for our 2014 Nissan Titan.

Great company, great service. A few years ago, I bought a used Nissan Titan. My family uses it to pull a boat on a trailer. It was not supplied with the tow package fuses. I was able to easily find what I needed from your website., placed an order, and was pleased with your delivery team. For sure, I will be a return user to your site. Thanks John B 268404

Although their products did not cause a problem that I was having with turn signals on my trailer they continued to assist me until the solution to the problem was corrected. Finally they sent me a site that had the information that I needed to correct the problem. Lots of time was saved as it would have taken many hours to finally locate the offending item. I am glad that they continued to help me until the solution was found. 272060

My experience with e-trailer has been nothing but stellar. I have a 2016 Nissan NV2500 van that came with a factory installed hitch and 7 way plus a wireing harness preinstalled by the factory in the cab taped up just behind the e-brake. Plus a Nissan harness in the glove box to be used to marry the brake controller to the harness under the dash. The van salesman said thats all I needed, Great! NOT! I worked for hours trying to get the the trailer with brakes to have all the needed lights too. Nothing worked. The dealer had no idea, forget trying to get hold of Taconsha by phone. I finally called the tech who installed brakes on the trailer and he said be sure to check for relays under the dash or hood because the factory alsways makes mistakes. Sure enough no relays were there to make the trailer brakes and light systems to work! Geez....The dealer wanted believe it or not $175.00 for the four relays! I argued that the van should have had them installed. They did not see it that way and never got back to me with my request to provide them where the van was set up for towing from the factory. So relying on e-traler I found a set of relays advertised for the Nissan Titan but nothing specifically for the Nissan NV van's in the way of relays. They do work perfectly. You'll need product #C57000 relay kit and #38666-1 single relay. And harness #3050 to mate from the socket under the dash to your Taconsha P2 brake controller. Look under your hood for the relay box closest to your battery. You'll see four empty sockets. Place your new relay's in the sockets as indicated under the relay box cover. Not much on the Internet as to how to do this on the Internet so I hope this helps other NV2500 van owners. 566084

  • Parts Needed to Install a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2010 Nissan Frontier
  • If your 2010 Nissan Frontier came with the factory tow package that includes a 7-Way trailer connector then you would not need any additional relays unless the factory left them out for some reason. • Relay Kit For 2013 Nissan Frontier
  • If your 2013 Nissan Frontier does have all of the wiring in place but missing the relays, yes you will need Curt Relay Kit for Nissan Aftermarket Tow Package # C57000. Check behind the passenger side kick panel for the tow package jumper harness. That harness, if present, is where the relays go. If you are missing that jumper harness you would need either # 118525 for a 4-Way or # 118266 for a 7-Way. With these parts you will be able to add relays to your Frontier if needed. I have...
