Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Curt battery box for break way batteries. This replacement battery case houses and protects your break away battery and charger. It is a top loading case so it's easy to access from above, and it has locking design. So it comes with this integrative bar that slides over the lid to keep it from being opened. And it can lock in place with a padlock. Lock is sold separately.

And the diameter of the lock hole right here is a quarter inch.So to gain access you can remove that top bar and then you can just pop open the lid, the bracket. Just has these holds here in the back, which allows the battery box to slide right into so it holds it pretty securely. This is your battery box. It's a weather resistant polyethylene case that protects your battery from moisture and debris. The mounting bracket would simply bolt to your trailer's frame.

Mounting hardware is not included. And it is made from a durable steel construction with rust resistant gloss black finishing on it. The lid is tethered to the housing so you don't have to worry about misplacing that or losing it. It does have a cut out right here so your wiring can run through, and it's got a couple holes on the bottom there, so that way if moisture does get in, it does have a way to escape.Now I took some internal measurements for you and the overall link that we have internally, that gave a measurement of about five and seven eighths of an inch long. The opening width measures about three inches wide.

And then the over all depth, to the very bottom of the box is five and three sixteenths of an inch, so from the bottom to the top. But you'll notice down there there's a couple tabs, almost like a shelf, which keeps your battery from sitting on the very bottom. So from the top of those tabs or from the top of that shelf to the opening right here, measures four and one quarter. The overall length of the box edge to edge going this direction measures about six and three eighths of an inch. Overall width is about three and a half inches.

Overall height is about five and three eighths of an inch tall.When it comes to the bracket, again, nice durable steel construction. The box simply just slides in. The overall bracket length, not including the locking tabs, so just measuring this portion here, that's about six and three quarter inches. Top to bottom I about five and three quarter inches. The mount holds on the unit are separated on center going this direction by five and a half inches. Up and down, they're separated on center by two inches, and they have a quarter inch diameter. So when you're ready to lock it up, simply take the bar, place it into the old, rotate it into place until the holes line up and then you can install a pin or a padlock.
