As advertised. Did have to drill a couple of extra holes in it as there was nothing between this drop and the next shorter one. also cut off unneeded length. Works fine now. 816915

This is the second hitch I've bought cant say enough about etrailer first hitch was a fifth wheel then this drop for my dually. Needed the drop to pull a bumper pull tiny house. Great service fast shipping hitch looks well built. The only disappointment I have is it is made in China. I prefer buying American but it appears to be well made welds look great I hope its not made from recycled metal time will tell I hope this helps anyone buying a hitch 418435

This thing is a tank! The square tubing is solid steel, where many are hollow. The gusseting and the welds are super thick, and the coating is great. It may be more weight than some people want to deal with, but nothing on this is going to break. Fast shipping! 217717

I had used a dropped hitch to move the trailer but with a rating of only 5,000 lbs. I could never use the trailer at it's full 12,000 lb. capacity nor I could use the weight distributing hitch, the Curt Weight Distribution Shank rated @ 15,000 lbs. addresses both these issues in one part built exactly for this purpose, couldn't be happier with this purchase. 210771

  • Will I Need a Longer Weight Distribution Shank if I Switch to a Lifted Truck?
If you only have the shank that came with your Blue Ox SwayPro system, then you will almost definitely need a longer shank to tow with a lifted F-350. The good news is the brand isn't all that important because most shanks are interchangeable between brands and we can help you figure out what size shank you will actually need. I attached a help article to this page that talks about how to find the correct rise or drop for a ball mount. Basically, you will just want to get your truck...

  • Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation for Needing Hitch Drop of 10 inch
The Curt shank part # C17124 can do up to a 9-1/2 inch drop when used with a round bar setup like your Fastway E2 round bar weight distributions system. The next largest drop we have would be the Curt shank part # C17125 which can do a drop of up to 15-3/4 inches which may be a bit too extreme.

  • Largest Drop Weight Distribution System Shank Availability
That's a pretty low trailer you have. To compute the correct amount of drop you would need you need to measure from the top of the hitch opening to the ground and from the bottom of the coupler to the ground. Based on the dimensions you just gave you would need a drop of 19 inches. The weight distribution shank we offer that has the most drop is the part # C17125 which can do up to 14-1/2 inches of drop. Since 16 inches from the ground is pretty low for a trailer I am hoping that was...

  • Drop Shank Recommendation for Lifted Truck Using Weight Distribution
For a lifted truck you will need a drop shank like the part # C17125 to use a weight distribution system like part # C17333 and still tow the trailer level. You didn't say how much drop you would need but to determine that you will need to measure from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground and then measure from the bottom of the coupler on the trailer when it is sitting level down to the ground. The difference between those two dimensions is the amount of drop you would need. The...

  • Tall Drop Shank Available for Use with Husky Weight Distribution on Lifted Vehicle
You are going to need quite a bit of drop since your truck is lifted so high. The one with the most drop that we offer that would work well is the Curt # C17125. This shank has 20-7/8 inches from the top of the shank down to the very bottom like what you see in the picture I attached. For a drop shank with not quite as much drop we have the # C17124 which has 13-1/2 inches instead. Both of these will work with a Husky weight distribution system.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Shank for Lifted Truck
It sounds like you're needing a weight distribution shank. You're needing something with a 14-3/4 inch drop. I can get pretty close to that with the 13-3/4 inch drop when used with a round bar weight distribution system that's provided by the Curt # C17125 weight distribution shank. If you have a round bar system, this will place you close enough, as even with weight distribution the rear of the truck is going to settle a bit. The adjustment hole spacing in the shanks is standard, so this...

  • Drop Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation that is 18-1/4 inches from Top to Bottom
The Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17125 that you referenced can do a drop of up to 14-1/2 inches and has a distance of 22-1/2 inches from the top of the shank down to the bottom of it. The part # C17123 can do a drop of up to 12-1/4 inches which means it would be 18-1/4 inches from top of the shank down to the bottom. Based on what you said you needed this should work great for you.

  • Weight Distribution Hitch With 14 Inch Drop
In order to get 14 inches of drop you will need to use Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17125 and for a 450 lb total tongue weight I recommend the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution # RP66073, which prevents sway instead of just reducing it with a cam system that is unique among manufactuers. Also note this weight distribution system will require a hitch ball, either # A-90 for a 2" ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16" ball. The Strait-Line # RP66073 has a tongue weight capacity of between...

  • Finding the Correct Ball Mount to Tow a Trailer with a Lifted Jeep
That's quite a bit of drop. Before guessing that you need 15 inches of drop you can measure to determine exactly what you need. I've linked a help article about finding the correct rise or drop. The Curt Weight Distribution Shank - 12" Long - 15-3/4" or 13-3/4" Drop - 1,500 lbs TW # C17125 will give you 9-1/2 inches of drop with a round bar system. This is the most drop of any of our round bar systems. With your lifted 1997 Ford F-350, you will definitely need a deep drop shank but if you won't be using the lowest setting, I recommend going with a shorter shank to give you more clearance. If the rear of your 2015 Ford F-150 is still sagging even with weight distribution being used then it could be that either the system is not rated high enough for the tongue weight of the trailer or the system is not set up properly. The solution for that is to use bolt on brackets like the # RP58305 which allow you to bolt to the side of the frame and not require clearance above the frame. • Troubleshooting Sagging Suspension with Lifted Suspenion Truck and Weight Distribution
Lifted trucks don't always handle the best when towing a trailer. A lot of times the lift components weren't intended for any towing either so you'd want to check with the manufacturer of the lift as well. The two reasons rear suspension will sag with a WD system installed is that it's either not set up properly or the system is not rated high enough.
