Solved my problem of the ball being too high on my weight distribution hitch. etrailer shipping is fast I highly recommend them for RV and trailer needs.

by:

It's a solid shank. Holes are spaced correctly, and chamfered. No burrs, and welds seem to have decent penetration. Not sure if I would feel safe using it at its limits of 1500tw and 15k gtw, but only because of the hitch it goes into. Could be made cheaper but not by much - there's a lot of steel here.

by:

Had to cut the bottom off,and add a hole, but works great for my lifted truck

by:

Extremely nice drop hitch. Heavy duty and very well built. I put it to use the day I received it and am very pleased.

by:

Very well built! Heavyweight! The husky weight distribution hitch fits this shank like a glove. Only issue at all I have is after doing a lot of research and reading reviews I decided on this shank to allow for a even ride height for my camper and trailer. My truck is a ram 2500 with 6.5 lift and 35’s and honestly this shank may be to much of a drop. Not the companies fault. 100% my fault for going off of others reviews and recommendations. I will have to get some weight on it and see. If nothing else I may have to cut some off the bottom of the shank and use the two top most holes.

by:

I am very happy with this product. It is well made, heavy duty product. I recommend this for anyone who has a lifted truck and plans to tow safely.

by:

This is the second hitch I've bought cant say enough about etrailer first hitch was a fifth wheel then this drop for my dually. Needed the drop to pull a bumper pull tiny house. Great service fast shipping hitch looks well built. The only disappointment I have is it is made in China. I prefer buying American but it appears to be well made welds look great I hope its not made from recycled metal time will tell I hope this helps anyone buying a hitch

by:

I had used a dropped hitch to move the trailer but with a rating of only 5,000 lbs. I could never use the trailer at it's full 12,000 lb. capacity nor I could use the weight distributing hitch, the Curt Weight Distribution Shank rated @ 15,000 lbs. addresses both these issues in one part built exactly for this purpose, couldn't be happier with this purchase.

by:

Purchased a 12" distribution shank from e-trailer to tow my horse trailer on my new motorhome. I bought it from etrailer because they had the best price and free delivery. The distribution shank I received was awesome. It solid steel and out together really good. I could not have been happier. When purchasing any trailer items I always check with etrailer first. I have never been disappointed yet.

by:

Good place to find different applications. Cordial people when I call; very helpful. Hope it continues.

by:

Great Drop hitch for pulling my Bike Trailer .

by:

This is one heavy duty weight distribution shank. I am very happy with etrailer, the product, and the few days it took to deliver it.

Thank you ;-)

by:

Product is extremely stout and should work for your heavy duty application

by:

I have a 97 F350 with four inches of lift and 37in tires. Works great with my truck for a level travel trailer.

by:

Unlike previously posted reviews, the packaging of this hitch was exceptional, it was a box within a box, no damage what so ever. Product was as described and shipped promptly!

by:

Ordered it on Monday afternoon showed up the next day when I got home from work. Fast free shipping and a very good price. The drop shank will be perfect for my lifted truck.

by:

etrailer.com had everything that I needed for a difficult set up that I had to arrange. Nice catalog of items, easy to use website, and everything was delivered in four days. Perfect!

by:

This thing is a tank! The square tubing is solid steel, where many are hollow. The gusseting and the welds are super thick, and the coating is great. It may be more weight than some people want to deal with, but nothing on this is going to break. Fast shipping!

by:

Hi Nicky, this one is getting sent back thanks for taking the time to help establish the proper set up for my truck and trailer!

by:

As advertised. Did have to drill a couple of extra holes in it as there was nothing between this drop and the next shorter one. also cut off unneeded length.
Works fine now.

by:

very happy with the products, fast shipping

by:

This shank was very well made. Just not the right length. Had to get a smaller one. I had no trouble buying it or returning it. They where very helpful and nice. The delivery time was very fast too. Went with the normal delivery and it was at my door in 2 days. Was very surprised. Definitely would recommend.

by:

I was very impress with how quickly it got to me! It was just what I needed. I would choose you to do buiness with anytime.

by:

I am still waiting to see if my second delivery will be right to complete this piece

by:

Quality product, has worked flawlessly every time.

  • Troubleshooting Sagging Suspension with Lifted Suspenion Truck and Weight Distribution
Lifted trucks don't always handle the best when towing a trailer. A lot of times the lift components weren't intended for any towing either so you'd want to check with the manufacturer of the lift as well. The two reasons rear suspension will sag with a WD system installed is that it's either not set up properly or the system is not rated high enough. Can you verify the tongue weight of your trailer and the tongue weight range of your Husky Centerline Weight Distribution system?

  • Can Weight Distribution be Used Towing Setup that Requires 12 inches of Drop
We have drop shanks that can provide 12 inches of drop with a weight distribution system like the Curt shank part # C17125 which can do up to 15-3/4 inches of drop with a trunnion bar system or 16-1/4 inches with a round bar system. The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help...

  • Recommended Curt Weight Distribution Shank for a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with 7 Inch Lift
The weight distribution shank we offer that has the largest amount of drop is part # C17125. This 20-7/8" tall shank has a 16-1/4" drop when used with round-bar systems and a 15-3/4" drop when used with trunnion-bar models. It fits 2" trailer hitch receivers and is designed for use in the drop position only. It's 9" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest edge of the vertical adjustment shank, so it won't create the addtional clearance you're looking for between your trailer...

  • Replacement Weight Distribution Shank to Offset Lifted Tow Vehicle
The shank parts of weight distribution systems are interchangeable among brands since they all use standardized hole sizing and spacing. So you could use a replacement shank like Curt # C17125 which would provide a drop of up to 15-3/4-inches when used with the Steadi-Flex's trunnion bars. This is the most drop of any shank we offer. You may care to review the linked video that explains how to choose the correct WD system for your trailer's actual loaded tongue weight.

  • Compatibility of Weight Distribution Head and Shank Parts from Different Brands
Most weight distribution heads and shanks are interchangeable between brands since they use a standardized hole size of 3/4-inch and a center-to-center hole spacing of 1-1/4-inches. The Pro Series head assembly # 58333 and the Curt shank # C17125 are compatible. The shank has a weight rating of 15K and the specific spring bars in your Pro Series system will also have a weight rating that must be appropriate for the trailer tongue weight.

The Curt # C17125 measures 12 inches in overall length and will provide a drop up to 16-1/4 for a round bar weight distribution system or up to 15-3/4 for a trunnion bar system. Since you need a 12 inch drop, the # C17125 would work for you, and would allow for some adjustability if needed.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Shank for Lifted Truck
It sounds like you're needing a weight distribution shank. You're needing something with a 14-3/4 inch drop. I can get that with the 16-1/4 inch drop when used with a round bar weight distribution system that's provided by the Curt # C17125 weight distribution shank. If you have a trunnion bar system, this will have a drop of 15-3/4 inches. I do have an option for you but there is not a weight distribution shank that offers as much drop as the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17125 that fits in a 2-1/2" hitch receiver. We have confirmed with Curt in the past that the reducer sleeve is compatible with weight distribution systems. I have attached a video for your reference.
