I'm not crazy about having to drill more holes in my trailer frame but, since my v-nose won't accept the clamp on lift brackets, I'm glad this product exists. 579056

The product will fit just fine once we get the 17/32" drill bit we need to drill the holes. Apparently this drill bit is not a common size in any of the sets at our house, our fire department tools, local hardware store or even [other stores] do not carry it in store. So it needs to be ordered and shipped. So if ordering this make sure you have a 17/32" drill bit or order one at the same time. So you're not having to order one after you get it and see the instruction needing one and to wait 3 more days after getting this to install it. 391563

I received the brackets today and installed them today as well. I hooked up the trailer and they preformed as they should. I had a real concern on the amount of time it took to get here. It took 7 days to reach the city in washington that I live and another 5 days to get to my house. 344621

As always etrailer has great service. Brackets work well for tight areas (my car hauler has a cross-member and toolbox preventing me from bolting on the clamp on snap up brackets- plus I only need for occasional use with heavier loads, so wanted as cheap as possible way to reuse the load bars for my camper on the car trailer) Also, these brackets are more of a pain to hookup as you have to jack up the tongue and rear of truck to hook the bars and lower the weight on them- and much harder and time consuming if trailer is already loaded (snap up brackets are a better option, if you can use them in your installation) but these are solid, strong and simple as they come, reasonably priced, and they get the job done. 327310

Do you have a question about this Accessories and Part?

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for Trailer with Limited Access to Tongue Area
  • Curt offers their Short-Arm Weight Distribution System # C17332 that is rated for trailer tongue weight in the range of 1000-lbs. This system's spring bars are 2-1/4-inches shorter, at 28-3/8-inches, than most other bars and so they can be the best option when there is limited space at the trailer tongue. All you need to add is a hitch ball, either 2-inch # A-90 or 2-5/16-inch # 19286. If your trailer nose blocks access to the side of the trailer frame where the spring bar brackets need...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch for Short A-Frame Trailer Tongue
  • It seems like you have the basics of choosing an effective weight distribution system down, but just to be thorough it bears repeating that in order to choose the best weight distribution system, you will first need to know your total tongue weight (TTW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your 2017 Nissan Armada. Since your trailer weighs 4,550 lbs fully loaded, depending on how much weight you...

  • How Long are Curt Round Bar Spring Bars
  • I spoke with Curt and spring bars of the WD system # C17150 has an overall length of 30-5/8 inches and the diameter is 1-1/4 inches where it fits into the head. The length is measured from the center of the end that fits in the head to the center point between the holes of the small u-bolt that chain attaches to. So what you can do hopefully is install a set of bolt on brackets like the part # C17005 to the frame where the spring bars need to be which allows you to bypass the interference...

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Bar for 24 Foot Enclosed Trailer with Limited Tongue Length
  • For your short tongue on your new trailer, I recommend the Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution systems with sway Control. This will give you the friction sway bar that will help control sway, but will need to be disconnected prior to backing up. I've attached an article to assist. If the hanger locations won't allow the brackets, you can use the Chain Hangers for Curt Weight Distribution Systems - Bolt On # C17005 as the hangers. • The Replacement Frame Brackets for Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # C17508 will work with only the Curt TruTrack systems. If you have the EAZ Lift brackets for a chain system, then you will need to use the Chain Hangers for Reese Weight Distribution Systems - Clamp On # RP58306 or bolt on hangers like # C17005. If you have the trunnion or round bars with integrated sway control then we don't have anything that is compatible with your brand of system.

  • Distance from Hitch Ball to Chain Hanger Bracket When Installing Curt Weight Distribution
  • The inside width of the frame channels of the Curt Hangers part # C17057 that you referenced are 3-3/16 inches. The distance from the center of the hitch ball to the center of the frame hanger will be 31 inches. If either of the two dimensions I listed would pose a problem for installing the # C17057 on your trailer you have the option of using the bolt on brackets part # C17005 which will bolt to the side of the trailer frame. This will get around the problem of a trailer frame...

  • Curt Trunnion Weight Distribution System Recommend V-Nose Trailer with 1,100 lbs Tongue Weight
  • For V-nose trailer you have to use a set of bolt-on chain hangers. This allows the brackets to install on the frame underneath the V-nose of the trailer without requiring clearance above the frame. If you went with a Curt system like what you referenced you would want the part # C17005, or if you went with a Reese system you would need part # RP58305. Since your tongue weight is 1,100 lbs the # C17332 that you referenced would not be the correct system to use since it is for a 1,000...

  • Trailer Propane Tanks and Batteries Interfere with Lift Brackets on Curt Weight Distribution System
  • The spring bar length in Curt weight distribution system # C17051 is 30-5/8 inches long. This will put the system outside the range you need but I do have a way to make it work with your trailer. Instead of using the lift brackets that come with the kit you could use chain hangers # C17005 that bolt to the sides of the trailer frame. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation of this Curt system. The difference between using the lift brackets and the bolt-on chain...

  • The standard spring bar length for Curt trunnion bar weight distribution systems is 30-5/8 inches. Anything that has 28-3/8 inch long bars is a short bar system even if it does not explicitly state it. What you might be able to do is use chain hangers # C17005 in place of the brackets that mount on the trailer. These hangers will mount to the sides of the frame so provided that the sides of the frame are clear you can use these hangers. The other option is to replace the system you...

  • Weight Distribution And Sway Control Recommendations For 2014 Toyota Tacoma Towing A Trailer
  • In order to use weight distribution and sway control on your trailer, we will have to come up with a couple of things. To make the system perform properly, you will want to mount a weight distribution system with shorter arms due to the lower frame on the trailer. A typical WD system requires the chain holder brackets to be mounted 30 inches from the trailer ball. On your trailer, that is an issue. I recommend the Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System with Shank, part # C17330. This...

  • The 20-foot Featherlite trailer model 4926 uses two 3500-lb axles and it has a dry weight of 2900-lbs according to the Featherlite online guide. But the key to choosing a weight distribution/sway control (WD/SC) system is knowing the actual tongue weight (TW) of the trailer when it is loaded up for the road, not just the empty trailer's dry weight. We offer a handy scale # 5780 that makes measuring TW easy. Since Featherlite trailers use aluminum construction I suggest checking with...

If the V-nose of your trailer covers the top of the trailer frame at that location, no worries. You can simply use a bolt on chain hanger, like part # C17005. Instead of flipping the hanger lever up to take the slack out of the chains, you'd use the trailer jack to raise the trailer tongue...

Curt offer either a 10k system part # 17302 or a 15k system # C17333 that this would work great with.
