.Today we will be taking a look at Camco Sunshield with inserts for RV roof vents, part number cam45651. This adjustment roof vent cover let's you regulate sunlight and air flow into your RV. With the vent in the open position it protects your interior from the elements while allowing ventilation. With the cover in this position you can choose to include the sun shield or you can remove it. With the sun shield removed, it's going to disperse the air in four different directions to reduce the draft. With the cover in the closed position this will seal the interior of your RV against heat, cold and rain.
The cover will catch condensation, rain and dust when your roof vent is open. with the sun shield installed it's going to block 100% of the suns damaging UV rays helping to keep your RV interior cooler in the summer and a little bit warmer in the winter. One of the key features of this cover is that the installation is very easy. There's not drilling required and it mounts to existing vent holes with dual clamps and screws that are included. The plastic is very durable and the decorative appearance adds style to your RV. This fits your standard 14 inch by 14 inch vent andcomes with a one year limited warranty. To show you how to install, we'll go ahead and get all of our hardware out on our counter.
You can see that we have eight plastic clips. We'll need to take two plastic clips and you can see how they have the grooves here and there's two little spacers on the inside here. Those grooves are going to fit into the spacers. Then well take one of our screws, fit it up through what looks like the bottom. We'll do this for the other three clips. With all of these in place we'll need to remove the existing screws from our vent.
Now, the screws that come with the vent do have a Phillips head on them so you want to be sure to use a Phillips screw driver. With the old screws out, we'll go ahead and leave our liner in and then take the assembly we put together with our hardware and screw it into place. Now we're ready to take our vent cover and place it onto the clips. We'll take the sun shield, place it into the cover and then we'll slide it into slot number one which is the lower slot. With the vent in this position it's going to allow our vent to breathe which means it's going to allow it to bring air through.
You can see how we have the gap along the top here. That's going to keep a lot of the UV rays out but also allow air to come through. Now, we'll go ahead and allow the vent cover to change positions by removing it, pushing it up and sliding it back into place. Now, with it in this position, you're going to see that we no longer have that gap so we are completely sealed off and ready to go. I have used it on and off for a while to block the heat and direct airflow,from my MaxxFan, away from the top of my head (inside low top van conversion). It's great at heat management, but not so much with directing airflow despite adjusting the bracket height. It's a great value overall.
If you have a motorhome or trailer that has a ceiling roof vent, you'll want one of these. Easy to install, takes about five minutes and all you need is a Phillips head screwdriver.
Once installed, you can easily open or close the sliding cover to give full blackout or to continue to have airflow even with the cover closed. The included thermal shield can help keep the RV cool - even when the vent is opened.

This product was exactly as advertised. Instalation was easy, and it fit perfect. You can tell the difference immediately blocking the light, and heat. I would recommend this product to everyone.
Arrived safely packaged and in tact. They are what I ordered, can't say much to it as they aren't installed yet.
Didn't realize the bath skylight was wider than these so I have an extra now.
I did dry fit them and they block out all light which is what I wanted coupled with heat blocking.
I ordered two of these, one of the silver heat barriers was cut crooked and did not block all of the sun coming through. The plastic covering was ok just a little flimsy. They will serve the purpose for awhile.
The product arrived on time and in good condition. It installed and works as advertised. Time will tell if this cover holds up in the Florida sun and heat. At this time I am very pleased with etrailer and the product. Thank you.
These are great for keeping out the sun &moisture. Also helps with cooling and heating. Trimming them was a bit difficult so that what my only issue with them.
AS described. Easy to cust to size. We use more for witer insulation then for hear of the summer as we use our camper-van year-around.
