The lock installs into the heater itself not the door. Open the door of the heater, you should see a bracket with a hole in it. If you have an existing camlock still in there you will want to remove it. Compress the spring on your new camlock and pull the lever off. Feed the spring through the back side of the bracket through the hole. Compress the spring again and put the lever back on the end of the spring. Close the heater door, turn the lever horizontal and flip it down.

I bought this for my water heater door on my 5th wheel. Works great. Easy to install. The only negative thing I have is the old one was coated (plastic??) so it didn’t scratch the door.

I bought two double wheel covers and they went right on without a fight.
I bought a couple of baggage door catches as the old were sun beaten and cracked. they went on using the same screw holes, perfect match. I bought a steel version of the old plastic hook and keeper door catch, which the sun had rotted. the bolt holes lined up tighter then the old holes which were stripped. The screws are not stripped now. I bought the Camco cam lock to replace the missing one on my heater door. It works like brand new. I haven't mounted the door lock yet.736163

I purchased a replacement latch for my water heater door. Part was available, shipped promptly, and installed. I was very happy with the ease I could find my part on the website. I will certainly use etrailer for parts purchases in the future. The latch was an exact fit.396709

These are one of those simple items that has to be replaced from time to time. It's going to rust; there's no way to stop that short of an expensive painted or powder-coated latch - overkill IMO. Installation takes seconds, and having a spare in the tool drawer under the dinette means not worrying about a failure on the road.

Some places charge the same amount for ONE of these as the pair cost me from E-trailer. These folks are great.708185
