Today we're going to take a look at the Curt Straight-Tongue Posi-Lock Coupler Repair Kit for the class one coupler. This Curt replacement posi-lock latch is easy to install. Fits on the straight tongue posi-lock class one couplers that are designed to put on the 1-7/8th inch trailer ball. This part is made from a hardy steel construction. It has a nice durable zinc finish to protect it from corrosion, wear, and tear. Has a unique feature of the posi-lock latch which is its adjustable design right down here you can see.
This lockable latch mechanism will adjust by tightening or loosening this lock nut within the latch. Makes for a nice firm hold on the trailer ball. This Curt posi-lock repair latch is designed to fit a 1-7/8th inch trailer ball and it can be used on a 2 inch, 2-1/2 inch, or a 3 inch wide channel coupler. The posi-lock is your little lever right here that you can just release. That'll release it from the ball and when you push it down to close it, it will lock right into that notch right there. Repair the latch on your Curt Posi-Lock coupler with a 1-7/8" ball diameter.I have a 1972 Sears Luggage trailer that my son damaged the Coupler by running it over with his car. I thought the trailer was toast with no way to repair it. By chance I happen to find the Etrailer web site and low and behold they had the exact part I needed! Coupler Repair Kit for 1-7/8" Curt Channel Couplers worked perfect and the trailer is ready to go.

I was attempting to convert my trailer from the old style "screw down" coupler to the newer clamp spring style, so ordering this part was an experiment for me. However, the new part installed quickly and easily, and worked very well! The piece is very sturdy and none of the parts seem flimsy at all. Great product!
This item doesnt come with the part that rests against the trailer ball like what is pictured
If I could give it 10 stars I would. The coupling mechanism on an old trailer that I recently bought went bad last week and did some serious damage to my car when it broke and the tongue of the trailer came off of my vehicle. I cut the coupling mechanism off of it and just got this one put on last night. I am absolutely thrilled with this product and with the money it saved me from not having to pay someone to cut the tongue off and weld on a new one. I could not be happier with it.

A year later this thing still works great! I probably only use my trailer once every few weeks but it has exceeded my expectations so far
The product was delivered on time as promised and was the exact quality presented. The website was easy to search and included the size of the hitch ball and not just a class or weight description. I was replacing a coupler that was damaged and needed only the repair parts. I will use this site again as needed and gladly recommend the site.

Great, reformed well and installed easily.
Received in mail around 5 pm. With hacksaw removed old and had new one on by 6 pm.
I was surprised to receive my order so quickly. Sometimes it is hard to know exactly what part it is that we need. When I ran over the hitch and broke the lock, I thought the trailer was done for. But further investigation showed me that this part could be removed and from there my search began and I ended up at etrailer.com. It was so easy to find the replacement for the lock there. Ordering was as simple as could be and installing this part was no problem with the instructions that were included. Thank you
Simple install. Seems to be well made. Works just like the original coupler that I sort of ran over with the tractor. As always, good price, good product, very speedy shipping and there is always a real person that answers the phone if you have a problem. Etrailer is my go to place.
I couldn’t believe how easy this was to install. The locking mechanism on my little utility trailer over the winter. The local trailer place wanted $165 to replace it. This did the trick and is still working a year later.

Snow plow guy bent the old one making a pass. Ordered this and was an exact replacement. Only made one trip to the dump, so I can't say anything about its longevity, but, so far everything seems just fine.
Installed the latch today, went without a problem. Looks much sturdier than the old rusted one that I replaced. The shipping. was fast, price was great and I am "one happy camper"!!!

Nice,works well.No signs of wear or loss of function.Etrailer has the parts and price point for me.
