Most often used on trucks with 6-foot and 6-1/2-foot beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.
Non-Binding Design
The round-tube design of this slider allows for relatively uninhibited movement of your fifth-wheel hitch. Because your hitch can glide smoothly and easily along the rods, there is less chance of binding.
With straight, flat contact points, as found with square-tube sliders, tension can build between the slider and the hitch when your truck and trailer are somewhat out of line or are on uneven ground. As a result, it can be difficult to properly activate the slider when your truck and trailer are not in a straight line.
With a round-tube slider, there is more give between the contacting surfaces, allowing better mobility of the hitch system. Fewer corners means less tension buildup. Activating a round-tube slider is easier, and operation as a whole is smoother.

After breaking the back glass in my pickup the second time....I bought this slider.....very easy to use and my insurance company is very happy!
Every time we hook the camper the wife and kids yell "did you slide"!

Excellent product and amazing customer service. Box arrived missing hardware package and etrailer immediately got the package sent out. This slider is very rugged and allows incredible maneuvering on our 2020 Silverado 3500 standard bed with our 44’ Kestone toy hauler. It also gives us more vertical height clearance for bed rail clearance. I’ll never worry about cab contact again

order arrived in good condition .very easy to assemble looks great very heavy but it seems like that just makes it more sturdy. customer service was great in taking care of the shipping and tracking the unit from the factory to me. The first shipment was damaged before I received it and they shipped one out almost before I knew about it. it still only took a week for me to receive it and only 2 hours to install. thank you all for the prompt service

U need better packing on your hitches the boxes were torn up a doll the intrusion labels were torn off and stuck to the paper.

- Will 2012 Chevrolet Silverado with 6-1/2 Foot Bed Need a Sliding Fifth Wheel HitchWe would have recommended a sliding hitch in your 2004 since it's a 6-1/2 bed as well. Unless your trailer has a Sidewinder or Revolution pin box on it you will likely need a sliding hitch in your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. If you already have a fixed hitch we probably have the slider base to convert the hitch to a sliding hitch. For an example the Curt # C16570.
