Pre-Galvanized Steel
Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating (less than 1 mm) and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so it's recommended that they be primed and painted.

Today we'll be taking a quick look at the CE Smith light mounting bracket for post-style boat trailer guide ons. This is going to allow you to attach your light to that guide on on your boat trailer. So it attaches around the post using one of the carriage bolts. To go through, it's got a little square hole on one side, round hole on the other. So you want to put the head of the bolt on the square side so that it can lock into place with that carriage bolt style. And then the other side we'll add on our lock nut.
Now this is going to attach our bracket to our guide post. In some cases, you might need this other bolt and nut if your guide post doesn't have anything to keep it from swiveling, so you can put this lower down on this guidepost to keep it in place so you don't have to worry about it rotating back and forth. Comes with the hardware to do that. As you can see, the two bolts and two nuts, but again, you might not need that second bolt and nut. It's made of a pre-galvanized steel so it's going to help to resist any corrosion which is especially important on our boat trailers. We're going to be bringing things in and out of the water so we want to make sure that that bracket and hardware are going to be able to be up to the task.
It helps to keep your light out of the water to prevent any damage to that light itself so it's going to keep it nice and up and out of the way, and it also extends it out by 7-1/2 inches from the trailer itself. It gives you that mounting point for your one taillight. That is sold separately. You can find a lot of options here at etrailer.com. Pretty simple to get this installed.
You just will have to drill a hole through the guide on to get the bolt to go through the bracket and your guide on and then just attach it to the post. And the the light should come with hardware to get that installed on the other side.Overall, it's about 10 inches long. From the end to the center of our guide post, it's about 8-3/4 inches. And then from the end to where it bends out, that's going to be about 7-1/2 inches. Works with a two inch diameter guide on post. And that's going to do it at our look at the CE Smith light mounting bracket for post style boat trailer guide ons..

Quick way to mount lights on your trailers guide post's.
Item was same as pictured, fast delivery, little more than I wanted to pay, but difficult to find in a store
These guide ons brackets worked perfect for getting my lights out of the water and damage. I mounted them at the top of the inner post and drilled through the PVC guides and the galvanized post for better strength and stability. My 60” post tended to vibrate a lot at the top when towing, this installation location aided to stop most of the vibration.
This is a great product to keep your boat or pwc trailer lights from getting dunked, corroded and broken. I’m excited to see how long my lights last now that they won’t be getting wet at the boat ramp!
Good setup, a better way to keep brackets from moving.

Extremely pleased with the results. I mounted my trailers tail lights onto the guide posts with these brackets. Mo more smashing the lights on hidden boulders at the boat launch.
