Today we're going to be taking a look at part number CE22007Z. This is the replacement U bolt for CE Smith Spare Trailer Tire Carrier. It can be used with two lug nuts to secure a spare tire to your trailer. Lug nuts are going to be sold separately. This is made from a zinc-plated steel construction so it's very strong and durable, as well as long-lasting and corrosion resistant. It's going to be made in the USA. It's designed to fit 4-lug and 5-lug wheels up to 15".
It's designed for trailer frames, rails and tongues up to 3" wide. If we take a measurement inside edge to inside edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about 3-1/16". This is the portion that is going to go around your trailer frame, rail or tongue and again, it will accommodate that size up to 3". The length that we have from the bottom of this bar right here to the end of the threaded portion is going to measure 8-3/8" long. The width that we have when it comes to the opening here at the base, it's going to be about 3-3/4". The thread portion is going to give us a diameter of 7/16" and it's going to contain 20 threads per inch. That's going to do it for our review of part number CE22007Z.

Constructed of sturdy, zinc-plated steel, it holds 4-lug and 5-lug wheels up to 15".I refurbished a 1967 B-700 Holsclaw boat trailer using tires and rollers from etrailer. I have yet to install the spare tire carrier and lock. I just had a VIN allocated and the trailer is now registered and waiting for the summer.
Great service and prices from etrailer.
I live in the metro Atlanta area and have looked high and low for this simple solution for mounting a spare tire on my utility trailer. No such luck finding it locally. Hardware and hardware superstores sell u-bolts but they're not long enough. Etrailer's item # CE22007Z is a great solution and cost less than 6 bucks. Shipping was reasonable and fast. This was my first experience with etrailer. Next time I need trailer or towing parts I'll start my search at etrailer.
I've never seen a trailer spare tire U-bolt that a lug nut wouldn't fit. These are fine thread and smaller size and I will have to carry it into a hardware store with me to try to find nuts that will fit. It should have come with nuts, being an odd, fine thread size. I have a million nuts around but none to fit this. It only makes sense to use lug nuts, that way the same wrench fits when you have a flat tire and the tire keeps pressure on the nut so no need for fine thread, and the coned lug nut fits on the rim better. But fast shipping though.
This worked, but it and the recommended nuts are one size smaller than the lug nuts on my 3.5K axles. They take a 19mm (3/4") wrench and trailer axle nuts use a 21mm. I might be able to get them off with my 21mm lug wrench (by wrapping them with a thin piece of cardboard/paper), but I plan to carry a 19mm just in case. The description(s) did not state the wrench size, else I may have chosen a different option.
I ordered 2 wheels and tires for my boat trailer. Not only was Etrailer the best price BY FAR but the quality far surpassed the other retailers.Even better, I ordered the tires on Tues. and they arrived here in Penna on Thur.in time for my trip on FRi.. and the shipping was FREE. It doesn't get any better than that!!! Why would you shop anywhere else for trailer supplies ? Oh yeah, they are ST.Louis Cardinal fans too !! Right Kris ???
Easily and securely holds my spare tire to the trailer tongue.
Basic and seems rugged. Fit my five hole wheel without a struggle. What amazed me most was the super speedy delivery. Thanks, Carla!

Still appears as new. Wheel hasnt fallen off trailer.
Perfect fit for mounting spare on the tongue of my trailer. I can easily adjust position for optimal tongue weight. The one curious thing is that the nuts are 3/4 and not same size as lug nuts, which is a bit inconvenient when changing a tire! (for that I downgraded this product one star).
This piece fits exactly where and how I need it to fit, and is strong enough to carry the large spare tire that I need on my older trailer.
Nice quality hardware and great price!
