Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a safety chain clip. The safety chain clip welds onto the trailer frame, to securely hold a trailer safety chain in place. This unit is made from a durable carbon steel construction, it's very strong, it features a plain, steel finish. The diameter is 3/8 of an inch, and there's a few other measurements I want to go over with, real quick.I took a measurement of the overall length, and that measures around four inches. The overall height, with it laying just like this, on a flat service, so from better bottom to very top is about one inch tall. I also measured the space right here.
So, from the tabletop to the bottom of the clip, that space up and down measures about 9/16 of an inch. Then I place my ruler right here, and I measure inside edge to inside edge, and got a measurement of about one and 3/8 of an inch. So where that starts to taper down, the usable space is about 1-3/8, but that's really gonna be limited depending on how large the hook is on your safety chain that's going in there. Again, usable space measures around 9/16 of an inch tall, and 1-3/8 side-to-side.That's gonna do it for today's look at the weld on safety chain clip.

Needed a more permanent connection for the safety chains on my vintage trailer ('48 Boles Aero) and welding these on worked perfectly. They had been bolted on which I'm told is not legal in CA. These chain clips provide a very cost effective solution.
All good, arrived quickly and I'll weld them on this weekend.
