Video Transcript for Bulldog Heavy-Duty Jacks Sidewind Crank Review

What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this replacement jack handle from Bulldog Winch. It's going to go on a heavy duty jack. It's going to help you operate your trailer jack. That's going to raise or lower it, makes it really easy because of the leverage.

You're going to be able to do that way quicker. than if it was a shorter handle. And this is just good to have as a replacement part, Just in case you have an old rusty trailer with a rusty handle that squeaks a lot, brakes, or just showing some signs that it's not going to last very long. You can easily replace it with one of these. Let's check it out.

Put it a little closer at the replacement handle, it is for a sidewinder, so that just means it's going to mount on the side of your jack . It's not going to be a top winder one, which is good, 'cause it gives you more space out here than up there. Just to go ahead and operate it and turn it this way. The other thing I like about it is the handle moves. So this spins around as you turn, just making it easier.

So you don't have to worry about, if you we're to grab it here, you kind of have to move your hand awkwardly, or like, turn the jack, and that's just going to take up more time when you're trying to raise and lower your trailer. Now, it does have a steel construction with a black paint on the top of it. You can see the paint doesn't hold up too well, honestly. We've only used it a little bit. It's already got some scratches on there.

You can see the steel underneath. So that'd be the one downside I see with this replacement handle. Now let's go ahead and get some measurements to make sure it's going to work with your jack and your trailer. So first off, we're going to measure in between here, you see how much space there is, looks like it's about an inch and three-eighths. That's gonna be how much space in between. And then let's go ahead and measure the slot out here on the side. It's going to be right at two inches. So it's going to be two inches there. Another good measurement to get is from the center of the bolt to the bottom of the handle. There's the bottom of the handle there. So it's like about 16 inches. So you can have that from down here all the way up here, just to get that clearance measurement. Last measurement will be just how long it is in general, so I'm going to go from here to the end of the handle, and looks to be 26 inches long, from here again to here. Now it also comes with the hardware to attach your new handle. So you don't have to worry about using the old rusty bolts. You got some new ones there. It's really easy to attach and replace. Follow along to see how we did it. Our old handle was broken, so we already removed that. So we're just going to line this one up, with the same hole there. We'll get our hardware that came with it. So once that's lined up, We're going to run our bolt through with a washer on this end, and a washer and a nut on the other end. And then just start to tighten it down. On there. Come back with the nut, add that next. And then we got ratchet wrench, and let's tighten it up. Now, I will say you don't need to tighten it, insanely tight or anything like that. Just somewhat tight. You want it to be loose, so the handle can still slide through that slot. Now, the reason why I want you to leave it loose is just so you can do this with the handle. Now, you can store it down in this trailer everyday, it's a little off, that's going to be in the way on the front and the backs. You can't really do that, but you want to leave it loose, so you can do that on your trailer. Now, there was another one we installed today, a different handle, and I kind of liked a little bit better. That was the Buyers Products one. And it even came with a bracket that you could weld to your jack. And that handle on when you we're in travel. I kind of liked that option. Overall, really easy to replace that handle. And it makes it far easier to raise and lower your trailer with a new handle. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped..

This crank handle paired well with my 45,000lb landing gear. Looks to be heavy duty and will last. For my application I actually extended the tube about 4" to clear the side of the trailer when cranking. Works great.

The product was just as expected and, if, anything, is better than the original. It is well built and will likely last for many years.

  • Replacement for Bulldog 1,200 lb Topwind Trailer Jack
To get replacement parts for your Bulldog jack you need to know at the very least the specific model of jack and its capacity, with the exact model number being the best way. For example, the Replacement Sidewind Gear Kit # BD500106 is designed for Bulldog series 139, 159 and 170 jacks with a 5,000 lb capacity. That said, we do not carry replacement parts for a 1,200 lb Bulldog jack, which means your best option is going to be a new jack. There are no 1,200 lb topwind jacks, so I recommend...

  • Recommmended Landing Gear Jack Crank Handle for 2008 Pace American Enclosed Car Hauler
Thanks for your picture. Sounds like you have a Bulldog Sidewind Landing Gear and although we cannot be for sure that this is a Bulldog 2-Speed Landing Gear, I can tell you that when I researched your Pace American Trailer it typically is outfitted with a 2-speed landing gear. Without knowing the exact model you have, my best recommendation is the vertical clevis crank # BD015181. the horizontal clevis crank # BD800090, or you may need the crank for heavy duty for landing gear with...
