Zinc plating resists corrosion.I bought this product to go along with the Bulldog Round, A-Frame Jack - Topwind - 15" Lift - 5,000 lbs - BD155032 which I also purchased from etrailer at the same time. this was the third jack for an tandem enclosed cargo trailer that weighs about 7000 pounds loaded. The trailer belongs to a Non-profit living history group of which I am the "Seneschal" which essentially means the guy with the truck big enough to pull the trailer. My responsibilities also include repair and maintenance of all of the gear and the trailer. The original jack was damaged and I had purchased a "speed jack" from another company and installed it last October and did not use the trailer until April of this year. One use and that jack failed. Upon dissection I discovered that the Chinese manufacturer failed to lubricate it and the bearings were rusted and in various stages of disintegration. After a bit of cursing and a bit more internet research I found etrailer. Once I abandoned the idea of a "speed jack" and went with the drop jack, I found that etrailer had what I needed at a competitive price. Calling etrailer lead to a delightful experience rich with excellent customer service with likes of which I have never experienced in my 58 years. They were quick to confirm that this part was compatible with a Bulldog jack that etrailer also had in stock. I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised when etrailer upgraded my shipping for free. The parts even arrived a day earlier than the upgraded date. I have installed the jack and everything fit as promised. I have attached a picture. I must emphasize that this company has the best customer service that I have ever encountered.
Purchased to use with a bulldog manual top wind jack BD1750290317. This drop leg arrived in good condition, feels sturdy and well made HOWEVER these two parts are “related parts” in the site shortcuts but ARE NOT compatible despite the descriptions included for this product saying works with most manual trailer jacks. The diameter of the inner tube on the jack and outer diameter of the tube for the drop leg are such that while close, they just do NOT mate together. Buy with caution, ensure that the inner tube inner diameter of your trailer jack is at least 1 7/8” or 2” if you want your drop leg to fit and slide/adjust smoothly !

A year later, still happy with the purchase! Might look to upgrade as I get older, but not too sure about the electric options. This jack has been bulletproof.
Love this option to greatly increase lift while also maintaning low clearance. I combined this with a ProSeries A-frame 15" top-wind jack and they slide together effortlessly and provide a large range of lift. I tried the Bulldog version of the same jack and the parts did not slide together as good as the ProSeries version, although I only tried one Bulldog jack. I tested 3 different ProSeries jacks of the same model and all slid great. I choose this combination for our fleet of production trailers and I highly recommend it.
I assumed that since I bought the recommended part from Bulldog that matched my Bulldog jack the coupling would be smooth. Not the case, I was finally able to get the pin through and secure the drop hitch but only by using a hammer. It works but significant effort will be involved if I want to adjust the height to a different adjustment hole.
Product seems like it's great build quality. Unfortunately, it does not fit my receiver. I took the time up front to measure my trailer tongue dimensions with calipers to verify the exact dimensions I needed. the reviews and description said this part might not be a match if you didn't have the same tongue and they were spot on. Wish it had fit but it's just a little too wide for the inside of the jack stand I have.
Drop leg arrived a day earlier than expected---exactly as described and easily fit into Bulldog trailer jack. Glad I found this as now I don't need to carry blocks of wood to get the boat trailer high enough to hitch/unhitch off of a 3/4 ton truck. Great product!!

my 3rd one, works as expected. bought because same thing but cheaper in house / "etrailer" brand was way too far backordered. etrailer brand is identical to Bulldog without the sticker. you can find Bulldog on the shelf in stores for cheaper, but etrailer made good on their lowest price guarantee so I added it to a bigger order for one stop shopping and got my project done quickly. great customer service as usual.
Does not fit into bulldog jack spent hours filing and grinding still will not slide in and out have to use a hammer, what a waste of money, back to using blocks of wood.
I purchased a trailer jack and dropleg from etrailer. The order was placed on a Monday, and I got the package on Wednesday. They upgraded my order for free. Now that is great service!
The new jack works very well, the one that came with the trailer was very rusty
and you had to work at it to get it to lift the front of my 8,000 lb trailer.

Exactly what I needed. Beats using a block as a shim. Easily drops and retracts on jack. Stays with jack so you never lose it. I hook up and drop trailer daily-so money well spent for me.
Two of the holes still had the metal hanging in them, easy enough to pop out with a punch, but then would not go into jack past the 2nd adjustment hole without some halfway significant grinding all along the v-groove. Bulldog needs to up their QC game on this particular product. Works fine after I finished modifying, but if my grandad had ordered this, or my mom, it would have been worthless.
Seems like a good product. I had to file it down some to fit the bulldog jack. It seem like it it a good product.
I recommend these drop leg units to anyone who has a jack of this type. The ability to drop the leg to the appropriate height and then use the jack to finish lifting the trailer up off of the ball has saved untold cranking on 2 of my 7x18 enclosed trailers.
I received my order quickly and installed the equipment today. Fit and finish seem to be perfect. And my order qualified for free shipping ! Bonus! Thanks etrailer!

What else can I say, its an extension leg and it performs as it should.
Got this to go with the bulldog 5,000lb a frame jack. To a minute or two of filing on the end of the jack to get this to fit in. But after that it fit great. Good and solid.
Had a concern about retracted height of jack, this drop leg solved the problem !

Fits perfectly
I have not tried it for fit yet but it appears to be correct. Since it is rated for 5k I was expecting it to be built heavier than it is but I am not an engineer and it may be adequate for the job.
