  • Replacement Rack-and-Post Assembly for a Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Trailer Jack
The rack and post assembly that you will want for your Bulldog jack is part # BD018006. This is the replacement rack and post assembly for the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Bolt On Jack, # BD169201, which is what you have on your trailer. I spoke with my contact at Bulldog and he said the design of the jacks has changed very little since 1997, so it will fit. The rack and post assembly # BD018006, that you referenced would still fit, but has been discontinued. It was designed for the A-frame...

  • Recommended Trailer Jack with Wheel for Wood Splitter
For your wood splitter, I recommend using the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack consisting of part # BD018006 and # BD018155 for an A-frame or # BD018161 for a pole tongue . This jack has a steel wheel, works with trailers that have a tongue weight up to 750 lbs, and comes with a weld-on bracket with a primer gray finish. The jack will provide you with 1" of travel for every 4 turns on the handle. I have attached a review video of this jack for you as well.

  • Are Weld-On or Bolt-On Installations Stronger for a Trailer Jack
If it is done correctly, welding is much stronger than bolts. This isn't to say that bolt-on applications are not effective and that they cannot handle the weight, because they can. Bolt-on jacks are a good choice in case you want/need to replace the jack in the future while weld-on jacks are more permanent. As long as the jack is rated high enough for your 4 Star Trailer, and the gearbox is installed correctly, you would be able to safely use either a weld-on gearbox like part # BD018161...

  • Comparing Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack Replacement Gear Box/Crank Assemblies BD019141 and BD018155
Both of the Bulldog replacement gear box/crank assemblies you referenced, parts # BD019141 and # BD018155, fit their 165-series rack-and-gear jacks. The difference between them is the weight rating of the jacks they fit. Part # BD018155 fits the 750-lb-rated jack # BD018520. Part # BD019141 fits 1200-lb-rated jack # BD165411 Both allow either bolt-on or weld-on installation on any standard a-frame trailer.

  • Can Bulldog Rack and Gear Jack be Mounted so the Handle is More to the Front of the Trailer
Technically, yes, you can position and bolt down Bulldog rack and gear jack # BD018155 with # BD018006 so that the handle winds at the front of the trailer instead of to the side but it may not be the best fit. For what you want to do I recommend the Fulton F2 jack # F1413250334 which has more mounting options and a round bracket for a better fit. To this jack you can add a single wheel # F500266 if you wish.

  • Replacement Rack and Gear Post with Caster Recommendation for A-Frame Bulldog Jack
Does it look like the part # BD018155? This is an A-frame style of rack and gear jack that you most likely have. If so, the part # BD018006 will work as a replacement but it is 3 inches shorter than the original.

  • Replacement Handle Knob for Old 750 lb Capacity Bulldog Rack and Gear Jack
Is the jack you're speaking of a Rack and Gear jack like part # BD169201, with the teeth running up and down the tube? If so, your replacement knob is part # BD500248. I have confirmed this with Bulldog. If you have a different kind of jack, please send me a photo of it and I'd be happy to look for a replacement.

  • Replacement Parts for Bulldog Rack and Gear Trailer Jack
Basically the two components you mentioned are the only two pieces you'd need for the Bulldog Rack and Post style jack. If you need the post portion you'd want the # BD018520 or if you need the crank portion you'd want the # BD018155.

  • Bolt Hole Distance and Mounting Plate Thickness for Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jacks
The Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack, # BD018520, uses the # BD018155 gearbox and crank assembly. I've attached a diagram of that part with the measurements you requested. The mounting plate is 1/4" thick and the bolt holes are 3 1/4" apart measured from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the next bolt hole. I've attached a copy of our Trailer Maintenance Schedule that will be helpful for keeping up with yearly and quarterly maintenance for your convenience.

  • Replacement Rack and Post for an A-Frame Mounted Rack and Gear Trailer Jack
If the rack and post is bent, make sure that the gear assembly is still working correctly. If it is a Bulldog jack you have, there should be a sticker on the gear portion, not the post, that indicates the mode so you can determine the compatibility between your jack and the replacement post. However, since there is potentially damage to the gear assembly portion of the jack, I recommend replacing it with a new one like # BD018155 and # BD018308. The other benefit is that there is no guess...

  • Replacement Handle Availability for a Trailer Jack
If you have a 1,000-5,000 lb capacity Bulldog jack there is a strong possibility the correct part you would need is # BD500248. Otherwise, check out the link I attached that shows all of the replacement handles we offer for jacks.

  • Will the Bulldog Replacement Rack and Post Fit on a Fulton Rack and Post Jack on a 1989 Ranger Trail
I spoke with my contact at Fulton and found that the Fulton rack and gear jacks do not interchange with the Bulldog rack and gear jacks. My contact said that Fulton does not offer a replacement rack and post assembly for their rack and gear jack and that you would need to replace the whole assembly. A good choice for replacement would be the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack with Steel Wheel, item # BD018155 and # BD018006. Both of these options have a 750 lb capacity and install in the a frame...

  • Availability of a Replacement Rack and Gear A-Frame Trailer Jack for a Skeeter Boat Trailer
We do have the same jack with either a steel wheel, # BD018006, or with a poly wheel # BD018308. Both have a capacity of 750 pounds and 16 inches of lift. The outer tubing diameter is 2-1/4 inches. The mounting holes are 3 inches apart on center. Compare all of these specs to your existing jack to determine if either listed above will fit.
