  • How to Pick Out Electric Winch Wiring Kit for a Vehicle
The Superwinch vehicle wiring kit you would need is going to depend on the rating of the winch you have. If it is up to a 4k winch you would want the part # BDW20043. If it was up to a 16.5k winch you instead would want the part # BDW20207.

  • Amperage Rating of Bulldog BDW20043 Winch Wiring Kit
The Bulldog Winch # BDW20043 rear wiring kit uses 3 AWG wire which has a 100A rating. If the draw of your winch is less than that, the wiring kit would work well for you. We offer a 100A surface mount breaker as part # PK54871PL. I've also linked to our winch wiring article, which you might find helpful.

  • Wiring Kits for Power Winch at Rear of Vehicle/Trailer
Winches draw quite a bit of amperage so for a kit that will be rated for that type of amerage draw we have the heavy gauge kit part # BDW20043 for up to a 4k winch, or if you have a higher rated winch we have the # BDW20207 for up to 16.5k. These kits run all the way up to the battery to power the winch.

  • How To Wire Larger Deep Cell Battery On Trailer To Be Recharged From Battery On 2008 Dodge Ram 2500
If you are wanting to put a larger deep cell battery in your trailer to power your winch and recharge it from the battery on the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 you will need to wire it directly with the Wiring Kit, # BDW20043, depending on what size winch you are using. The Wiring Kit, # BDW20043, has 16 feet of 3 gauge double wire to run from the rear of the vehicle to the front. I checked the length of 2008 Dodge Ram trucks and the overall length of the longest truck was 25 feet. So you might...

  • Using a 7-blade RV Connection To Power a Trailer Mounted Winch
I would not try wiring a winch through a standard 7-way connector. Winches draw much more amperage than the wiring that can be installed in a 7-way trailer connector can handle. The best solution would be to use a winch wiring kit like the Winch Trailer Wiring Kit, item # BDW20043. This kit includes everything needed to install a connector at the rear of the vehicle and at the front of the trailer, for powering a winch. If you already have heavy enough gauge wire you can order the Electrical...

  • How to Choose Winch Capacity and Parts Needed for Quick Connect Winch Wiring
Long story short, that's not going to work for you even with a double line pull using a snatch block like the # CU881079. In reality, you need at least 1.5x the GVWR of your vehicle when it comes to winch capacity. The # BDW10044 I mentioned as a better choice would be the bare minimum you'd be able to get away with and still be able to recover your 2019 Nissan Frontier from a situation that required a winch. The 6000-lb capacity ComeUp # CU854768 is not going to work with your 4700-lb...

The Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 40 Amp # 331-BCDC1240D will work well on a Class C vehicle. The unit will charge your secondary battery and allow you to use solar panels for charging as well. It works on a wide variety of battery styles and the installation instructions will help you with installation. I do recommend using the 60-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 40-Amp BCDC Battery Charger # 331-FK60. Redarc does recommend using...

The Power Inverter 1000 Watts with Three AC Receptacles part # WC3720 comes with 6 gauge wire leads which are designed to be attached directly to a battery. If you wish to extend these leads you can do so but you'd need to use a larger gauge, the Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit part # BDW20043 would be the perfect option for this as the length would get you to the truck bed from the engine bay no problem and it comes with disconnects for when the inverter needs to be removed. • Winch Recommendation for Pulling Racecar Up Into Trailer
The LT3000 winch, # SW1130220, is a good choice for pulling a 2,350 pound vehicle onto your trailer. With a rolling load (your vehicle) on a 17 degree slope (typical range for a trailer ramp) the winch will have a 7,825 pound rolling load capacity. For trailer mounting these winches are mounted directly to the trailer frame with bolts that go through the mounting plate provided on the winch. If you would like the winch to be removable you could mount it to the SuperWinch Hitch Mounted...

  • How to Charge A Trailer Battery When Connected to Tow Vehicle
What you are going to need to do is install a 7-way on your trailer so that you can run a 12 volt accessory circuit from the connector to a battery like you are interested in doing. You should note that this will only maintain a fully charged battery. For this route you will need a trailer side 7-way # H20042 and a length of 10 gauge wire to run to the battery. For that you would need part # 10-1-1 sold by the foot. If you are looking for something to actually charge the battery on your...

  • How to Charge Truck Bed Camper Battery from Vehicle
You are on the right track to answering your question of "why isn't the battery," being charged as the reason is that the charge circuit of your vehicle just can't carry enough amperage/voltage to keep the battery charged. The reason this is the case for your new setup is most likely because your new camper has a larger battery and/or has appliances that just draw more which uses more of the battery and the current circuit just can't keep up. So the wiring of the 12 volt charge circuit...

  • Will I Need a Separate Battery to Power My Winch?
If you are a frequent user of a medium to heavy duty winch then yes it is a good idea to carry a separate battery with you. Many times we see the auxiliary battery mounted within the engine compartment if there is space available when you have the winch on the front of your vehicle. If you are planning on using your winch when mounted to your trailer then we often see it mounted to the frame of the trailer, but you could also mount a battery box and battery to the bed of your truck. ...

This makes location easy and you can absolutely add the quick connect wiring like you mentioned. For a 7-1/2 foot long option, use # BDW20205. For a 16 foot long option, use # BDW20043. We have winch wiring kits like the part # BDW20207 that have 2 AWG wire run to a quick disconnect type of connector. One end would wire to the battery/alternator of your truck and the other connector to the trailer.

  • Can an Electric Winch be Plugged into a 7-Way Connector on an RV
First you have to look at the amperage the winch draws and compare it to what the 12 volt circuit on the 7-Way connector is rated for. Winches can draw a lot of power and could easily over draw the 12 volt circuit on the 7-Way. Most 7-Way connectors are on a 30 to 40 amp circuit breaker or fuse. Even a small 1,500 pound winch can draw 70 amps or more. What I recommend is to use separate wiring and connectors for the winch to avoid over drawing the 7-Way. If the winch wiring is 6 to 10...

This does not come with any wire, and to determine if your winch requires circuit breakers installed on the power line you will need to check the owners manual of the winch or the manufacturer. For a kit that includes the wiring you would want the part # BDW20043. This kit would then use quick connects like # BDW20018. These...

  • Winch and Install Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500
You can wire the winch up to either the truck battery or the trailer battery. If the plan is to use the winch on the vehicle then I would wire it there. If the winch is for the trailer then powering off the trailer battery would also work. But you will need to charge the battery more frequently. As long as you know which wire is positive and negative you should be just fine. I wouldn't get too hung up on the colors of the wires as they aren't always consistent. For a winch you could...

We hav winches like the part # 2953AT which can be mounted to a trailer like you need. The trailer wiring of your vehicleis not rated for use with the Master Lock Electric Trailer Winch # 2953AT though. The wiring could overheat and cause damage to the hitch wiring, the winch, or even your vehicle. It would be too much amperage draw for the circuit. You will need to wire the winch separately. I attached a help article that details exactly what is required for wiring up a winch, but for your setup you would want to go with a wiring kit like part # BDW20043. This will run wires up directly to the battery. LED lights draw a very small amount, so you could power them pretty easily off of the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way which is in the 1:00 pin position.
