Video Transcript for Detailed Breakdown of the Bulldog Winch Snatch Block

Today we're going to review part number BDW20005 this is the Bulldog snatch block with a 17,000 pound weight capacity and a silver zinc plate finish. This block will increase your winch's pulling power, it'll also change the direction of your pull without damaging the wire rope. It is designed to use a maximum wire rope diameter of 3/8 of an inch. Does have a 17,000 pound max load or breaking strength capacity and a 7,000 pound working load limit capacity. This is designed to be used with 6,000-8,000 pound winches. As you can see it has these nice, easy open side plates for simple rope mount and the snap block is a silver zinc plating for corrosion protection.

The other nice thing on this is right in the pulley wheel, there is an actual grease zerk fitting right here on top that you can put a grease gun onto and pump grease in there to lubricate that pulley wheel. That should do it for the review on part number BDW20005, this is the Bulldog snatch block with a 17,000 pound weight capacity and a silver zinc plate finish. .

I tried to write a review on your link below, but no luck tonight. We have completed our ATV/Tractor log arch (pictures attached) of which included the Dutton-Laison Hand Winch (DL14881) and the 7/32" x 50' Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable(FWC7500100). I purchased both items from etrailer, and together they work to easily drag and then load up 14" to 22" white pine logs into the log arch. While most logs are 8' long, the winch will easily handle a 16' log. The winches hand brake works very well in tandem with the down mode of the winch handle, when lowering a heavy log back onto the ground. Both of these items met and exceeded my expectations for both quality and price point, plus another bonus is the winch is made in the USA. I am very happy to say that you and etrailer have made our log arch project a big success!

Snatch block should serve me many years. It is a lot more heavy duty than it looks in the pictures. The grease zirk is a nice feature.

  • Will Pulley Block, part # BDW20005, work with Smittybilt 10k winch?
The Winch Pulley Block, part # BDW20005, will work with winches that have 5/16-inch thick wire rope. So as long as the weight capacity and wire rope thickness match up, you should be fine.

  • Snatch Block to Use with Bulldog Winch part # BDW15020
The Bulldog Winch Snatch Block # BDW20005 would work great with the Bulldog Winch part # BDW15020 as it has more than enough capacity and was designed for use with synthetic rope like the winch has.

  • Electric Trailer Winch Recommendation for Hauling Car into Enclosed Trailer
The Bull Dog Utility Winch, # BDW15020, is a great choice for the application.. This winch is designed primarily for race car trailers, open and enclosed and will control the cable feed in and out so you could stop the vehicle at any point when loading and would not have to worry about a runaway vehicle when unloading. For installing the winch in the trailer it is hard to make a recommendation without seeing the trailer and framing under the trailer. You can mount the winch in any location...

  • Recommended Pulley Block To Use With Offset Winch On Trailer
You can use a pulley block like part # BDW20005, to pull your car on to a trailer with the winch being offset. You will want to make sure the winch is well secured for safety. This pulley block has a capacity of 17,000 lbs break strength and is designed to be used with winches that have a rated line pull up to 7,000 lbs working load. I have attached a drawing that shows how to attach a pulley when offsetting the winch. I have attached a link to a product review video for this pulley...

  • Winch Capacity Needed To Pull 4000lb Vehicle Into Enclosed Trailer
A Superwinch LT2500 has a 2500 lb line pull capacity. For a rolling load like a car with fully inflated tires, a winch with a capacity equal to the weight of the vehicle, in your case 4000 lbs is recommended. This means that your winch has about half the needed capacity to pull that vehicle up a 12% slope into the trailer. If a pulley block like # BDW20005 is used, you'll effectively double the capacity of your winch which would do the trick for you and allow you to load the trailer, but if...

  • Pulley Block Compatible With 3/16" Hand Winch Cable
It sounds like you're looking for a pulley/snatch block to use with the Hand Winch Cable with Safety Hook # DL24043. I recommend using the Bulldog Winch Snatch Block # BDW20005. This is compatible with cables up to 3/8" in diameter so it will work for this particular cable or any other as long as it is no larger than 3/8". It has a 17,000 lb brake strength and 7,000 lb working load limit which is well above the capacity of the cable.

  • Recommended Winch To Pull A 2000 lb Pontoon Boat Up A 45 Degree Incline Transitioning To 30 Degrees
For this application, I reached out to my contact at Bulldog Winch and we came up with what we believe is what you will need based on the information you gave me. There are many factors involved here, so we are trying to cover all the bases for you and make it easy. I will give you our recommendation for using the oak tree to mount the winch, and using the 4x4 truck to power it. I recommend the Bulldog Winch Standard Series Off-Road Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead - 8,000 lbs, #...

  • How Could a Pulley Block Be Used to Slow Down Plow Blade From Raising and Lowering
A pulley block like the part # BDW20005 will reduce the speed of a winch by 50 percent when used. I attached a picture that shows how one normally gets used in a more traditional application. Basically you attach the pulley block to the object that is getting moved (in your case the plow blade), and then you route the cable through it and back to the same area as where the winch is installed. This slows the pulley down and also increases capacity. We don't have a specific recommendation...
