Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be checking out the Blue Ox Carrying Case for the Patriot Braking Systems. Now this carrying case is going to work with all of the Patriot type supplemental braking systems with the exception of the Patriot three. And it's not gonna work with the Patriot three because the arm design on the Patriot three is a little different. But with that said, you know having a carrying case like this, really for me, would kinda just put my mind at ease a little bit. And I say that because when it comes to a flat tow setup, there's a lot going on you know, there's a lot of components to have to worry about and kinda just a lot of things to keep track of.

So anything that I could do to simplify that, would be worth it to me. And something as simple as this bag, when it comes to your braking system, it's a big investment. It costs a little bit of money there, and having a bag just to go okay, when I'm done with it, be able to put it all together, and in the back of my mind I know where it's at and I know it's gonna be ready to rock and roll the next time I need it. There is quite a few different ways you can use your bag and really it's gonna be up to you, whatever kind of suits your style the best. If it we're me though, and let's say I was going camping for the weekend or for a few days, and I knew I was gonna be hooking back up to the car here pretty quickly within a few days or whatever, I'd probably just put it in the bag and keep it in the back of my car.

That way it's ready for me to get out easily whenever I'm ready to set up. And not only that, let's say maybe you have some type of other things in the back of your car, in the storage area you plan on keeping it, the bag is going to add a little layer of protection, that way if something bumps into it or spills onto it, you're gonna have a cover here and hopefully prevent anything from damaging or hurting your braking system. When it comes to RVs or even, campers, fifth wheels, anything like that, storage is key. You can never really have enough of it. And so by using a container or a bag like this rather, it's just gonna really help kind of consolidate it and make it easier to store.

So for example, when we're ready to get it, we can grab it, and we're good to go. And not only that, let's just say in the off season, you'd rather not keep an electronic device like this outside in the weather, even if it is inside of your motor home, it's gonna get cold in there and things like that. So, what you can do, take your bag with everything in it, and put it on a shelf in your garage or in the basement, and kind of forget about it. Until the time comes around again where you need to break it out. And when that time does come, you're gonna have the confidence to know that everything is together and should be just how you left it.

As far as the bag itself goes, it feels like it's pretty high quality. It feels good in your hand. Don't feel like it's just gonna shred apart and the braking system fall out of the bottom of it. And that's good to see, I feel like with these types of things, you kinda get either one or the other, you actually get out, or get a well-thought out custom fit type bag. Or on the other hand, you kinda get something that's an afterthought and kinda gimmicky, and along on the cheaper side. And that's not the case with this one. It does feel good, and feels like it'll hold up for quite some time. But with that said, why don't we go ahead, open this up and actually check it out. So my handle here, it's just gonna have some hook and loop fasteners, and gonna have a couple of zippers there. So, I really like to operate that. But once we open this up, you can see that this is a pretty tight fit in here, and they give you a little pad too, if you wanna put it around the side, or around the top, whatever, you know, whatever you wanna do, works out pretty well. It would be nice if there's a little bit of extra space for, a couple of other things, maybe a pair of gloves or a flashlight or, or something along those lines, but it's a pretty tight fit, and I think that's actually a good thing it kind of prevents this from having a bunch of room to kinda bounce around in. The arm does have this special pocket here, and that's what allows a braking system to fit in there. So if you're gonna pull this out, we're gonna set our braking system off to the side a little bit. That's how big our bag is. And today we're using it with the, the original Patriot there and it fits really well. One thing I did notice with this, is these feet, all right, and in our case, on the bottom here, the way our seat was positioned, we only had a few threads coming out, right. So the feet we're about that long. When I was trying to put this in here with those feet extended like that, it was kinda getting hung up and was sitting up so tall that it was really difficult to, to close the lid there. So something to think about, you may have to, if you have these extended out real far, you may have to just remove 'em. Is it a huge deal Not really, but something I did wanna mention. And I feel like the same would hold true as well with, with the seat stop here with this piece. I feel like if this was up, I can get it undone here. I feel like if this is up, way up top here, probably wouldn't be able to close that lid, at least not very easily. So, just something to think about. And something that I noticed, I don't really know how we could avoid that without making a super big bag and then, like I said earlier, if it was too big this thing would kinda just flop around in there so, just something to think about whenever you're ready to put your system in the bag. On the top of the cover here, there actually is a small pouch there as well. And I feel like that would work good for maybe your paperwork, if you have your instruction booklet or anything along those lines might be a good spot to think about keeping that. But at the end of the day, other than that it's pretty straightforward. It's nice to have a custom fit item for something like this and not try to make do with kinda just your generic standard type duffel bag. But other than that, that'll finish up our look at of the Blue Ox Carrying Case for the Patriot Braking Systems..
